I had tried cleaning them and they just still seemed gross so I threw them away and bought new ones - embarrassed to admit how long I had them!
How often do you replace yours?

As long as I still like them, I keep them forever. If they start to shed I throw them, I hate that. I clean frequently, about once a week. I use Dr. Bonners magic soap to clean and it works pretty well, they feel nice.

I am awful at this. I clean them maybe once every couple of months, and replace them? Uhhhh never? I actually only started using makeup brushes maybe 2 years ago, before that I really only wore mascara, concealer, and eyeliner. Now I have tons of products!

I've never replaced them. Just wash them ... Which is not very often. They seem bran new after I wash them tho! I use baby shampoo to wash them.

@Mamaof2: I use liquid foundation so the brushes get really yucky. I keep the soap and a small plastic bowl in the bathroom to make it really convenient.

@MOMTOLITTLEB: ah ok, I just use powder - maybe I don't need to wash them as much!
@mrskc: I washed my kabuki brush and I assumed it was clean but then bought a new one and man it felt like silk on my face which then lead me think my "washed" one wasn't so clean!

Never unless they're breaking apart?! I just wash them often.

I've had my Sephora brushes for 10 years, and they're still going strong! I wash them regularly with baby shampoo. I want a new set just because their newer brushes are so pretty and soft! But can't justify it cuz mine are still fine...

Never. I used to work at Sephora and the good brushes will last forever if you wash and take care of them!

i've had my current set for about 5 years--my plan was just to wash them and keep them. i should wash them more often, but they are still holding up well (as they should, they were pricey to begin with).

Not often – I wash my foundation brush at least 1x a week (usually more like 2x a week) and it’s been going strong for years now.

I've had my current good ones for about 5 years.. I wash them every two weeks roughly. I have a beauty blender that I replace every 3 months or so despite cleaning it.
