Sure you *could* do these things yourself at home, but how often do you treat yourself to professional hair styling/ waxing/ nail care/ skin care (facials)?
If you don't go to the professionals are you doing these things yourself?

The only thing I do somewhat regularly, is pedicures. I'll usually get them once every other month... otherwise my feet look AWFUL! I'll get a haircut maybe twice a year, and don't typically bother with things like facials or waxing (unless I'm going on a beachy trip, haha!)

I used to be soo much better about keeping my appearance up. But ever since using and trying to stick with a HH budget I stopped goung to the professionals. I have not kept up the beauty stuff at home. Last week I saw a woman with very cute shoes, but her toes were kind of crusty and didn't have polish not even a clear coat. No matter how cute the threads are the body needs a bit of an effort. Today I made an appointment for hair and waxing. Took care of the hands and feet myself.

Monthly? I get a wax every 5 weeks (i refuse to do that myself)...I get my hair colored every 7 weeks or so....i get a pedicure/massage every 2-3 months. I don't do manicures because my nails are so stubby and break so easily, I feel like it's not worth it. Some of these things, I don't consider "treats", though, just necessary things so I don't look like a cavewoman

I get a massage biweekly or at least monthly. Nails and hair maybe twice a year. I like how I do my nails myself. I normally only go there if I am going to get shellac done for a vacay. Eyebrows I get done monthly.

@blackbird: I thought about using a different word than "treat" since these activities are really part of most women's beauty regimen. Treat only in the sense of a professional.
@Reese: I am the same way about my eyebrows, I prefer to do them myself.

I do my hair dye myself, my toes myself except for rare treats, and I don't wax/do facials. My big treat is a pedicure once or twice a year, and a fancy hair cut maybe once a year. In between I get trims at cheap places. I won a gift card to a fancy salon in town though, so I'm planning on getting a great hair cut before the baby shower!

I try to get a massage or manicure monthly. Sometimes both, when I can find the extra time~

I get my hair colored every 7 weeks, trimmed every other-ish appointment. I have a giant white streak in my bangs, like Rogue from X-men, so I stay on top of the coloring!
I usually get massages on vacation (last time at NYE, next time in May), pedicures when I feel like it during warm weather. One thing I'm really bad about and really need to stay on top of better is getting my eyebrows waxed.

probably every-other-monthly.... i will get nails done for special occasions - i get my hair cut/colored every 3-4 months, and maybe once or twice a year I will get a massage.

My mom and I try to get pedicures together every 4-8 weeks. Otherwise, I get my hair cut and colored every 8-12 weeks. I should add a monthly massage into the mix!

I'm ashamed to say that I don't treat myself very often. I only get a hair cut when absolutely necessary (about once to twice a year), and it's a simple cut. I am too stingy to spend money on myself.

Almost never. I get my haircut (not styled or colored) every 3-4 months, almost never get manis/pedis/massages etc. Maybe at the beginning of the summer I'll get a pedi but that's it. Oh and I get bikini waxes maybe twice a year? I'd rather save my money for other things like plane tickets I guess in that sense i don't see spa services as treating myself, more a necessary evil!
Oh I guess I should add that the 'necessities' in terms of waxing are unnecessary for me because I did electrolysis for 3+ years on EVERYTHING.. eyebrows, underarms, upper lip, face, etc..

@JoJoGirl: ooh eloctrolysis sounds lovely. How many treatments did you have to undertake? Was each area zapped every visit?

I get facials at least quarterly – I get them whenever there is a change in the seasons/weather/level of humidity, etc. I do different face masks at home weekly, which is sort of a treat (at least to me it is!).
I’m going to start getting massages monthly. I need to get all the stress in my life hot-stoned out on a regular basis lol

I get my hair done every 2-3 months, pedicure every 3-4 months, manicure maybe twice a year? I don't know how to do my eyebrows and I have crappy tweezers so I get that done every 6 weeks or so. I love getting pampered! =)

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: Well, it was a long, ongoing process. I was going weekly for like 6 months, and then having touch-ups less often for like 3 years! (ie i'd go maybe once every 3-4 months). But that's more a function of the pure surface area I was trying to cover! If you only went for say underarms, you might only need to go like 4-5 times (30 mins each time or so). I had so many appointments because we did different body parts at each appointment. We did: full face (ie cheeks, chin, upper lip, jawline, eyebrows, sideburns, forehead...), underarms, arms from elbow to wrist, stomach (happy trail!), and feet. It was a LOT of work but now I don't worry about any of those areas!

hardly ever I've got a haircut maybe twice in the past 12 months and thats because it started to look terrible. I've never gotten a pedicure/manicure - I do that myself once in a blue moon and the closest I get to a professional massage is dh. I've planned a few times to spend some money on myself - but end up justifying that lo needs something more important. One day I'll treat myself!

Never. A wax is like $80 and a facial/massage is like $70 and I can't convince myself to spend that kind if money. Ever. I cut my own hair, I don't dye my hair, I pluck my eyebrows and do my own other assorted hair trimming (never waxing though, I'm a baby!!!) and can't stand other people touching my hands and feet. Lol! I feel like such a Scrooge just writing that!!

@Penny Lane: I don't like having my feet touched, either! I had a pedicure once and it was excruciating! I wish I had the skills to cut my own hair! Although I do like having my hair shampooed at the salon.
I manage to get my hair cut once every 4-5 months. Not ideal, but it's hard to get to the salon right now!

Just monthly in one form or another. Whether it be eyebrows waxed, hair trip, hair styled, shampoo.

Lol I love Treat Yo'self. I don't even watch that show but I watch that clip all the time.
I get my nails done every 2 weeks, massage once a month, and haircut every 3-4 months. This was all pre-LO though - who knows if I'll have time for a while.
