DS is 9 months old, and I can count on two hands how many times I've trimmed his nails since he has been born. They just don't seem to grow that fast or that long. It makes me wonder if he's nutrient deficient somehow. How often do you cut your LO's nails, and what do you use? Does your LO like it, or are they squirmy?

Oh wow, I'm jealous that you don't have to cut them that often! I have to clip LOs nails at least 1x/week because they grow so fast! I do it when he is nursing and luckily he doesn't squirm too much. He's 4 1/2 months.

Not enough, but they need to be done 2x a week! I usually go a week and a half before actually doing it though, she is such a wiggle worm.

Once a week but we could do it twice a week! His nails grow soooo fast. They're like little talons clawing at me when he eats. I clip them real quick while he's on the changing table, but I doubt I'll be able to do that for much longer. He's so squirmy that I've nicked his finger a couple of times
He doesn't seem to mind it, he's just always on the move! We use a regular baby nail clipper.He's 3 months.

Lo is 7 months and we usually do it once a week. I get dh to do it while she nurses. Her nails seem to grow fast and she's starting scratching and grabbing with her nails so it's become pretty important to make sure they're always short!

My DD is 9 months and we trim them at least 1x/week. She scratches herself all the time (eczema) so we have to keep them short.

LO is 12 months we alway trim atleast once a week. sometimes twice. She doesnt love it but the clipper we use has a light so it fascinates her, I have to sing songs and make buzzing sounds to distract her

Once a week at 1yo ! They grow like weeds!

I do it every other day. Her nails grow like crazy. If I don't do it that often, she scratches her face.

I trim his fingernails 2-3 times a week and toenails only once a week.

Every few weeks, whenever they get long enough to collect gunk... seems like the grow super fast

She's almost 5 months and I feel like her nails grow so fast. I'll file them down one day and a day later she has scratches on her face! Ugh.

4.5 months and I file her nails while she's nursing almost every other day. I'm kind of obsessed because she's always rubbing and scratching her face. So pretty much any time I feel that they are slightly sharp/long, I bust out the nail file.

LO is 6 months and I have to trim them every 3-4 days or they are like daggers. Mine grow fast too so that may be where she gets it from! We use baby clippers but I may get a pair of small adult clippers because the baby ones are getting pretty dull. She's getting much more wiggly these days so it's becoming quite a task, but I try to distract her as much as possible.

I try to do it as often as needed, they grow relatively fast. She hates it so much (19 months) that she has hidden (or thrown away) the clippers. We're going through a mischievous/naughty stage right now.

once a week, i do it right after she drinks her milk, she is pretty content for a few minutes after drinking. i've gotten better at it as time goes by, but always still nervous as i'm clipping hoping i don't nick her.

Once a week! I do it while he's sleeping to avoid the squirming. We use dull ended baby scissors. Baby nail files never worked for us.

LO is almost 3 mos and I file her nails every other day/3 times a week. They grow sooo fast. I do it while she's nursing. She has really pretty nails so I love to keep them nice and not let the nails break, and of course not scratch the heck out of me!

We try to trim LO's nails about once a week, but sometimes we miss a week here and there. It is sooo hard to trim his nails....we have to wait until he's asleep to do it.

I trim his fingernails at least 1x a week. But I've never trimmed his toenails? I'm not sure why, but they just don't seem to grow.
He's 3 months.

@allison: I thought the same thing re: toenails but then I noticed he had scratches on his ankles from his nails. So I started trimming them too.

LO is almost 4 months old and these days i'm trimming them every or every other day! he's been scratching himself a lot on the face so i try to keep them as short as possible--it feels like they've been growing like weeds lately.

@allison: I haven't trimmed dd's toenails yet either. Four months old and there's not much to cut.
I trim her finger nails about one a week, but for a long time they would peel off before I could cut them.

At least once a week, but I'm a bad mommy when it comes to it because I only trim once she either 1) scratches herself on her face (she rubs her face when she's tired) or 2) she scratches me and I realize they need to be trim. I need to set a reminder!
