for the last month or so we have been using mostly cloth diapers and I use Earth Mama Angel baby bottom balm to her butt once a day in the evenings after her bath. so far she is 10 weeks old and has had no issues with rash. she is starting daycare in two weeks and will be wearing disposables all day, will they expect me to give them some diaper cream to the use during the day?

never. i used to use it the first couple of months with olive, but i never use it at all anymore. so far so good!

We are Butt Paste addicts in this house! LO gets a little with each change after she had really bad diaper rash for a 2 weeks.

My LO is in disposables all the time and I only use diaper cream if she has a poopy diaper and/or is on antibiotics. I would ask the daycare if they require you to bring it or not. Our daycare keeps some in supply so unless we have a specific brand we want them to use, they use their own.

@BabyBoecksMom: hm that is a good way to go about it. After the small rash scare we had I'm afraid to stop using it now! But might not be a bad idea to only use it after a poopy diaper.
@Mrsbells: My daycare does not use diaper cream. So if you want to you have to bring it in and sign a release form.

Never. He had a little rash in the first week or so, but he's not even good ever since. I just used California baby calendula cream since I have it for his dry skin.

LO had a really bad rash a few weeks back so we layer diaper cream on thick before bed and after a poop.

So is it poop that causes/aggravates diaper rash? Because I always thought it was urine

We use homemade diaper rash cream probably a couple times a week. Her butt is hardly ever irritated.

yes, almost every diaper change. LO is sooo prone to diaper rashes.

We only use rash cream (and instruct daycare to do the same) if and only if he has a rash.

Never, per her pediatrician. He suggested we only use a cream to treat diaper rash. So far, so good.
