Is there some secret to making dry shampoo work for fine, thin, straight hair? Sometimes I can get it to make my hai look passable in a pony, but sometimes I give up and wash it. Even passable, it ends up being sticky and dull/matte. I've tried a couple brands if aerosol sprays and a few powders.

I wash every few days. I shower every morning and get it wet in the shower. I don't use dry shampoo, but I also don't use hair products. My hair is fine but thick.

@lilyofthewest: thin hair is tough. I use the suave brand dry shampoo and I feel like it's super dry compared to many brands, which could be a good thing if your hair feels sticky. If I go too long before washing my hair can feel really dry though. The matte issue can be hard to fight but I do think it helps to give it time to work in - I spray before bed and comb in the morning.

I have medium length Asian hair and I try to go 2 days in between washes....mostly bc I'm lazy, I wear a shower cap to keep my hair dry.
I recently got some dry shampoo as a gift and I'm going to try using that to extend my washing time.....and hopefully it will help my hair look better on those last days so I don't have to always put it up in a ponytai!
