Guys, my 10.5 month old looks like someone has been beating her. She's just started cruising about 3 weeks ago, and is starting to get brave about it, but has zero common sense. I've put padding on as many sharp corners as I can find, but she's still finding ways to hurt herself.
Yesterday she was cruising around the coffee table, and did a full on lay back trust fall onto the floor. Today she was head banging along with the music on her toy and did a face plant onto the table, and her bottom teeth cut through her top gums, and oh my gosh... so much blood. And she's recently discovered she can also stand up and jump in her crib, and then throw herself up against the bars, so her legs are just covered in bruises.
I want to let her have some independence, since cruising around tables etc is how she'll eventually teach herself to walk properly, but she's just so clumsy part of me wants to like, keep a hand on her at all times, but I'm not even sure THAT would help the situation, since she recently also managed to give herself a face bruise head butting my collar bone....
ETA: I just noticed Cherrybee also posted a similar thread today, so I'm following along there too if you don't want to repeat yourself!
