I am wondering how much longer I can keep my nose ring in before I become too "old" for it and it starts to look odd.

Haha. I was thinking of having my nose repierced & I'm much older than you I believe! At 28, I feel like I would do a stud rather than a ring though. Plenty of women pull off rings when they're older, but on myself, I think a stud are more subtle & I guess more mature. So do whatever makes sense to you for your face.

Can't help you because I can't think of an age...and I don't know how old you are either...but I've seen your pics and you are still rockn it so I wouldn't quit anytime soon.
I had one in high school and college...But took it out for my wedding and it closed! (they don't close normally) so I got lazy and never re-pierced.

@mrs. bird: i am 24 and wear a ring. I am thinking 32 sounds like a good age to take it out.....lol

I think it depends a lot on where you work. If you're a SAHM or work in a casual environment, I'd say leave it in as long as you want. I wouldn't feel comfortable wearing it to work, though, because I work in an office where that would probably be frowned upon.

My friend is 26 and took hers out a few months ago--she said she felt a little old for one.

I had a nose ring at age 20 and it closed up! I want to get it repierced though, I miss it. I'm 23 and don't think we're too old... idk I guess it depends... I have friends who just got it pierced at 25 and 26!

Oh man, I miss mine!! I took mine out 2 years ago (at 22-23ish) when I started my "grown-up" job.

On the one hand, I'd say you are probably fine until you work in a place that is very professional. On the other hand, my philosophy is that you are too old for things when you start asking yourself that question.

My MIL has a stud. A big diamond stud. But she's from India and she does what she wants.
I used to have a small nose piercing but I took it out a few years ago (maybe when I was around 28 or 29) when I had a really bad cold. It ended up closing on me. I thought about getting it re-pierced but never did. Now I'm afraid that exploring baby hands would try to pull it out (like he does my earrings) so I may not do it.

I have a stud, not ring. Most people don't even notice it and I still like it so I plan on still keeping it for a while. Maybe I'll take it out when it starts embarrassing my kids? Or maybe not...muhaha!

I think a small stud is appropriate at any age & with any profession. I will be 28 in February and plan on keeping mine in for a while yet. I did my "growing up" about 3 years ago when I took out my tongue and eyebrow piercings. I still have my Monroe & would get rid of that before my nose stud.

I'm 30 and still have my nose stud, it's the smallest chip of a gem you can get. I work as a professional and never have any weird looks in regards to it, but I certainly do from the tattoo on my foot. I think I will probably leave mine in for awhile as long as it's not causing any problems - it's either that or have a hole in my nose...it will not grow in!

I just have a diamond stud that's tiny, which I got when I was 18. I'm 29 now and have no plans on taking it out. It's barely noticeable and I still like it. I think a small ring or small stud is fine at any age.

My SIL has a tiny stud that is barely noticeable and she is 30. The only thing I don't like is the part that is in your nose sometimes if you can see it looks like a booger! lol! I'm too wimpy for piercings

I think when you feel too old for it. I agree with @Grace that when you start asking if you're too old, you are! haha

I don't know exactly when one is too old, but I love your nose ring and I think it looks so hot on you! I wish I could have ever pulled something like that off!

@PrincessBaby: aw gee, thanks! I haven't heard the word "hot" in reference to me since I got pregnant! How flattering. LOL

My MIL got one when she was in her 40's! It's small and looks nice on her. I think as long as you're happy with it, age shouldn't matter

Hmm. I want a stud and have for like... 10 years? I'll probably still want it some time from now...
Age limit? I don't think so!
(I'm 29).
PS You are beautiful with either ring or stud. The ring photo is younger but I'm not sure if the ring is also younger or if it's just that the picture is more casual...

@pastemoo: i am almost two years older in the ring photo! The one with the stud was my wedding.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: I love both on you! I believe the nose is one of the more "socially acceptable" piercings these days. I say do whatever you're comfortable with, it suits you!
