An old friend of mine is getting married 9 days after my EDD. I've known her for years and would love to go to the wedding but I think I'd be too unwilling to leave LO so soon.
Thankfully she is super understanding and told me not to worry about RSVPing, if I made it, great, if not, she understood.
How old was your LO the first time you left?

Just chiming in to ask whether you're allowed to bring your LO? Most people are understanding about newborns or BF babies.

One month- I threw my sisters bachelorette party so I had to. I'm super attached to lo though, she's 20 months and it's rare that I leave her. If it wasn't for my sister I wouldn't have done it.

I left A once with DH when she was six weeks for two hours, but haven't left her since and she's 20 weeks.

Maybe 8 weeks? I went to the movies with sil which I had promised to do while pregnant. I was away for maybe 2.5 hours, and I cried when I had to leave LO.

i went to a wedding about 9 days after Olive was born. I took my pump with me and pumped in the bridal room!

I left her in the church nursery at 10 weeks, but other than that she was 4 months old. I haven't left her much!

Hmm...when he was 2.5 months with I left him with DH and FIL to go shopping with MIL for an hour, and a month later DH and I left him with SIL to see Skyfall. The longest I've ever been away from him is 3 hours. I don't think I could have done it at 9 days, but I was (am) super attached to him.

She was almost one month old when we left her for a date night and almost 3 months old when we left her with my parents for the weekend.

9-10 days? I had the baby blues, so my mom watched S while Dan and I went out to dinner. We were only gone about an hour & I missed her, but it was really nice to get out with him.

R is two weeks exactly today. My Mom is coming over tomorrow after work to see her and told me that DH and I need to go to dinner and she will babysit. We aren't going to argue with her. I figure it will be an hour and half at the most, since we haven't really tried a bottle yet. I need a break for sure and some time with just DH.

First time I was away from LO was when I went back to work when she was 4 months old. I quit my job when she was 6 months old to be a SAHM and haven't been away from her more than 2-3 hours since then. I definitely have more separation anxiety than she does!

3.5 weeks I think? We went to a Mumford and Sons concert.
ETA: I actually left L with my husband when he was 6 days old to go to a class at church, but it was only an hr. the concert was the first long period of time I was away from him.

I flew for work when DD was 7 months old. Since then I have left her for 1-3 nights while I do work travel several times.

@delight: I probably could but I wouldn't want for fear he'd cry during the ceremony and because I feel like its her day and for me to show up with my newborn might detract from that (we have a lot of mutual friends).

6.5 weeks, just for an hour with my MIL while we went to get a Christmas tree. After that, for 3 hours at almost 3 months, and then later that week I went back to work. First overnight was at 14 months, 6 weeks after he weaned.

Wow. I feel like a bad mom already! I plan on leaving her when she is a couple months to go back to work. I effectively wont see her for 3 or 4 days at a time because of my sucky schedule. I know it is going to be crazy super hard but I have to in order to keep her in diapers!

About 2 weeks after DS was born i went to the store for ~30 mins because later that week i had to go to my SIL's bachelorette dinner/night and wanted to be away for him once. for that i was gone about 4 hours. when he was 5 weeks we had her wedding, i was in it, so i was gone from 9am to 11pm! that was tough.

We went and ate dinner for DH's birthday 3 weeks later, but we were only gone for an hour. Then it was like 8 weeks. I've been pretty good about leaving her, a few tears in the beginning, but I think it's good for her to be around other people.

@Mrs Hedgehog: Not a bad mom, a hard working mom. We have to support each other. I went back at 12 weeks, it's hard, it sucks, but it is what we have to do to help support our family!
