We have the FP rainforest jumperoo. I looked all over the box but it doesn't say anything about an appropriate age for it, it just gives a max weight limit. M is super active--constantly kicking her legs, wanting me to help her "stand," etc. So I think she will love her jumperoo. She's 3 1/2 months. I am thinking we could try it around 4 months. Does that seem too early? When did you put your LO in the jumperoo for the first time?

I want to say it was around 4 months. I remember also not seeing a minimum age. I know around 6 months she started rejecting it...so yeah, I think 4 months.

My LO actually went in for the first time at 8 weeks. We used a towel to support his body because the opening was pretty big and he always had great head control. I doubt it's recommended but he loved it and for brief spans of time we loved putting him in. We always stayed with him while he was in it and never had any problems. He's 14 months now and stands/ walks fine so I don't think it did any harm.

I first put my son in an exersaucer at 6 months, he always had really good head control, but I wasn't comfortable with anything before that.

We just have an exersaucer and it was around 3.5-4 months. She has always had great head control, so I felt fine with it. I just stuffed a blanket around her to give her more support.

@Beyond2: we did the same thing around the same age. We put books under her feet so she could push/stand on something.

@Lindsay05: Oh yes, we did that too, but we used a memory foam pillow! It was firm but less slippery for him to push off of.

Good post!!! Ours is hanging out in the back of his closet, and have been wondering when would be a good time to bust it out and use it. I think I'll have the hubby take it out tonight and take it for a test run!

12 weeks. he had really good head control early on. he was a lil too small so we stuffed small pillows and head pads in front and back... he loved it!

She was young. Maybe 4 months? As soon as she had good head control we put her in there and she loved it. We finally just took it apart this weekend (given that she can walk she certainly refused to go in the jumparoo any more!). But when it was on the ground she decided she needed to climb all over it and maybe she wasn't done playing with it afterall!

@Alivoo01: Ours is in the back of M's closet, too! I was considering giving it to her for Christmas, but I don't think I can wait that long (plus she won't know the difference!).

Good post! S will be just over 3mths at Xmas and we're thinking of getting her the FP jumperoo- maybe we'll have to wait a while to let her use it though after reading the responses.

I think we put them in it (we have the rainforest, too) around 5 months, but they couldn't touch the floor yet, even on it's lowest setting. They did like to play with the toys, though. I think around 6 months is when they started really jumping a ton in it.
