Charlie first said it just before he turned two. Olive is holding out on us!
How old was your LO when they first said, I love you? Do you remember what inspired them to say it?

My LO is still a holdout at 26 months He's saying so much these days, too! I think maybe it's the "l" sound that he can't get.

@Mrs. Yoyo: do you say it a lot but just get ignored in return? Or is that just me!

@mrbee: yup. And I flat out ask him to repeat it (shameless) and he says, "nooooooo!"

Chloe said it over FaceTime when papa jumper was in Italy this past June! That makes her 19 months when she said it.
She has only said it to me once, but tells her daddy all the time

@Mrs. Yoyo: I am super shameless myself! I feel like I'm trying to make fetch happen... maybe I should stop trying to make it happen!

DD is 25 months and has just started saying...Usually, though, after I tell her that I love her.

Around 18 months? Possibly earlier!
She started off saying "wuh you!" (Love you).

Off topic, but when I got home from the market today (I was gone an hour) she came running at me, hugged my leg and said "I missed you so much!"
Total heart melt!

@chopsuey: haha now you're just rubbing it in!!
What's your secret??
hostess / wonderful honeydew / 32460 posts
@mrbee: hahha I'm overly affectionate so I think it just rubbed off on her?
When p and I kiss or hug she says "awwwww so sweet.." Or "awwww that's so beautiful." Lol!

LO first said it spontaneously when she was 21 months old. It was so sweet to hear those words, I will never forget it!

I think my DS was around 19 mo and DD I can't remember, . For DS he was just a parrot and would repeat any time we said it. He says I Luh-buh you.

J is 18 months and copies us when we say I love you! Don't know if he's just mimicking or knows what it means

DS was around 22 months but he didn't actually say the whole phrase haha. He would say "yoou" back to me when I would say I love you. It wasn't until a few months past his 2nd birthday that he spoke, "I love you" clearly.

Considering she has 1 word at 15 months, I'd say we have a while. I can't wait.

Around 2. It was one of those things like her name where she'd just stare at us if we tried to get her to say it. So even though she said plenty of things she refused to say her name or I love you. Now that she's saying it she also says it to her poop before she flushes so I'm really not that flattered.

I want to say around 13 months? She is 16 months now and has been saying it for quite a while. She says "ah yuh you", but we know what she means. Usually, she is repeating us saying it to her, but occasionally she will just say it to me, which melts my heart.

She says it if we ask her to say it - does that count? Right now, my heart is melting when she says "I sowwy".
