She is 4.5 months and rolling all over. Last weekend we baby proofed the living room so she has a safe cushy place to roll.

She's 5 months old and we haven't done much. Once she's crawling I figure we'll get serious about the baby-proofing

we are starting to babyproof now.... he's 12 months old and cruising and army crawling
he's not terribly fast and we live in a small apt, so it's easy to keep an eye on him

We haven't yet but I'm definitely thinking about it now that E's started to crawl (slowly but he's definitely on the move). He's 8 months and I think I'll clear things that he shouldn't be into (glass, small pieces, etc) off low shelves, plug protectors and find ways to contain cords.

We have bought everything and have put in the plug protectors in, but we need to install gate, bumpers, hid cords now at 8 months, she's able to get where she wants and LOVES trying to play with cords...not good.

I am totally risking it by sharing this...buuuut...we didn't. Well, not really. I have, on two occasions, put an elastic band around the kitchen cupboard pulls where the cleaners are. And left it at that. And that's what we did with both kids. No baby gates either! For real.

10 months and we really need to baby proof, but we are moving into our forever home next month so I'm holding off until then.

Right on six months when Miss A started to commando crawl. She's now pulling up to stand so I'm on to the next round!
One of the best things I did was put up a playpen so that I can pop A in there while I'm doing stuff and know that she's safe (she's a very active and nosy baby!)

You know it felt like we didn't baby proof at all but then I started writing... except this and that and suddenly it felt like we did.
We did as a as needed bases. When he started to really crawl we put in baby gates (8 months). When he started to put his fingers in everything we put in the plug covers (9 months). When he started to cruise and get into stuff we put more gates up like in front of the TV and in front a book case (10 months). When he started to bang his head on table corners we put in the soft corner stuff (13 months).
I'm going to guess he will figure out how to open our cabinets soon and we will have to put latches on them in the up comming months.
So far this has worked for us.

We never baby proofed. I figured some bumps and bruises are to be expected.

our case was a little earlier than most because Tor has been crawling since 6 months old. He is almost 9 months old now and so fast it's insane. for us it was a lot of trial and error knowing which areas to childproof but we did the basics with the cabinet and appliance locks, the baby gates and the sockets. just get on all fours and pretend to be P and see what you end up running into that you wouldnt want him playing with.

10 months was when he got mobile enough for us to anchor down heavy furniture. And I'm still finding stuff to proof at almost 17 months.
We anchored furniture, put plugs in the outlets, foam tape across a tile step, new entertainment center to keep him from pushing buttons, a door for the computer desk, attached cords to the wall (Ikea has great covers for this), foam covers for a few table corners at head level... it never ends! He's learning doors now, so I'm looking into another lock for our sliding glass door.
