That's awesome! I do really hope to never have a transgender child, solely because my family would NOT be supportive and I don't want them to have to go through the kind of crap that comes with that. But if it happens, I hope I can be half this awesome about it!

Wow! I have a transgender friend, whose mom I'm also friends with and when he came out, she (the mom) did very similar - she sent out a birth announcement about her newest son. I'm sure some people thought it was odd, but my mom and I thought it was an awesome and clear way to make clear she now (and had always had) 2 sons.
