Since that's what I was really getting at with the body type question, I'll be more direct! 
I'm starting to freak out a little about how quickly he went from Preemie to NB to 0-3, and even that doesn't look like it'll last him very long. It's his torso; what is happening to my little baby? And all the cute clothes I bought him? Everything is for the wrong season now.

A didn't go through them as fast but E is in 6-9 months! She just turned 4 months old. It's crazy.

She stayed in NB maybe 2-3 weeks max. It's always the onesies that get too short. It's very common. 
I think at 3T now (26 months old!) we might be in 3T till the fall/winter?? Hard to tell.

It slowed waaaay down after 6 months. Like, she is 15 months and still wearing some 6-12 month clothes. She is petite, but if you look at the growth curve it slows way down. I'm worried she won't be big enough for the winter clothes I got her!

Fia was 8lb 2oz when we brought her home from the hospital and too big for most of her newborn stuff at that point, although some of it fit. Mostly she fit in 0-3 stuff. By 1 month nothing newborn fit and a few 3 mo things fit. Now at 2 months about half of the 0-3 stuff is too small and she is solidly in almost all of her 3 mo stuff.

Mine is long and skinny. She generally wears spot on for her age, 12 months, 24 months, etc., but that is because there is extra room/ fabric due to her being so skinny.

SUPER fast. NB for 2 weeks. 0-3 for 6 weeks. 3-6 for 2 months. She's 27 months and going into 3T this fall/winter.

He went through them pretty fast for the first 6 months. He was nearly 9 lbs at birth and wore newborn for maybe 2 weeks and was in 0-3 and 3-6 for a couple of months each. His growth has slowed way down now at 8 months. I think we'll be in 6-9 month stuff for awhile longer.

My little guy grew out of his clothes way too fast. We barely had time to put all his 0-3 and 3 month stuff on him. He's kind of starting to slow down on his growth now at almost 6 months.

it slows down around 18 months. charlie has worn some things for 3 years now at 4 1/2!

Yeah they grow fast... and that's a good complaint to have B grew out of his NB stuff super fast, maybe 3 weeks, and he was a small baby! But the stuff he wore a lot stretched with him, so some 0-3 month stuff still fit when he was one. And then he also had some 9-12 stuff that fit him at 6 months. So confusing!

0-6 months was so fast. But since 6 months it's slowed down a lot. I used to wonder how they could have 6-12 month sizes all of a sudden, but growth slows a lot.

lo took ages to grow out of her clothes (so definitely got our money's worth out of them!) It took til she was 1.5 that she finally had a decent growth spurt!

I found DS grew very fast the first year and then it slowed down significantly after age 1. He grew 12 inches his first year and only 4 his second.

My kids fly through clothes and start to slow around a year-18 months old. My oldest DD was in 2T at her first bday. She turned 2 in April and is in 3T, and moving into 4T, so growth has been slower since 1. Second DD was out of newborn in 2 weeks and is currently in 9 month stuff as of 4.5 months old. It's normal for them to grow really fast this first year, but it will slow. I cry a little every time I pack away a size

Really slowly! I thought she would go through them way quicker, so like you say, she has a bunch of things for the wrong seasons! She started off in tiny baby and at almost 10 months is still in 3-6mth t-shirts!

My DD is pretty close to average - at last doctor's visit she was 40th percentile for weight and 60th for height. She seems to fit into most clothes pretty close to what the tags say, so the first year she's been outgrowing clothes at least every 3 months.
For Carter's brand, she fits into them up to the age listed on the tag. So she fit into 6 month Carters from about 3 months to 6 months. Gerber sizes run crazy small. The Koala brand from Babies R Us also seems kind of small. Old Navy and the Gap have been pretty spot on for her.
She was in newborn sizes for 5 or 6 weeks, so then she only had about 6 weeks

My son's torso is ridiculously long too! He totally skipped 9 months (after I bought a bunch, argh) and at 6 months old is in 12 month clothing size for rompers and onesies, but in pants he's in 6 months.
I have just resorted to using onesies and T-shirts with shorts and pants until he starts to match up. And as for cost, I have had great success with Ebay - I won a batch of 50 clothes for $60, including shipping.

My son was in 9 month clothes by 4-5 months old. It slowed down a bit after that. He was in 9m for awhile, flew through 12m and 12-18m and has been in 18-24 and 2T since right after a year old. He's 17m now.

She wore newborn for a month. Then 0-3 for 3-4 months and then 3-6 for 3 months or so. I don't remember exactly. 6-12 or 9 months was about 6 months though. She is still in 12-18 or 12M (carters) at 16 months.

He wore NB for a month. Then 0-3 for another month or two. From there he quickly grew and was ahead usually (we like more looser clothing) by one size. At 20 months his growth has now slowed down a lot, he wears 2T tops and 18-24 month bottoms are a lil big on him and some 2T.

He went through sizes fast! He's solid and wide so clothes are usually too narrow for him. By six months, he was in 12 month sizes. At one year, he was in 2T. He's 22 months and has been in 3T for a few months.

I feel like LO jumped through a ton of clothes for the first 1 1/2 year. Now at 27 months, he still wears some shirts from last summer.

I think it just depends on the little one. We're having the exact same problem. At almost 7 weeks, the little dude is still wearing a lot of NB and only smaller fitting 0-3. He's long and skinny so that seems to be making things hard. I'm just hoping he has a growth spurt before it gets cold because I have all this 0-3 warm weather clothes that are too big. So I definitely feel for your out of season dilemma!

We went through NB in about two/three weeks, 0-3 in another month or so. She stayed in 3-6 months for maybe 4 months, and she's been in 6-9/6-12 months since March.

D has been pretty consistent with sizes. He was in newborn until about 5.5 weeks, and then after that he's been in the size until the month after the number. So he was in 0-3 until 4 months, and 3-6 until 7 months. But I mentioned on your other thread that since he's got long arms and legs (but not torso) he can stay in some clothes longer than others. He'll be 8 months on Friday and today I have him in a 3-6 month romper that fits just fine.

@spaniellove: DS went though nb to 9 months before 6 months (same issue long torso but short legs) but now we've been in 9-12 for awhile, we're almost ready to switch to 12-18 months and he's 10 months

LO was in NB for a while-10 weeks, maybe? She also worse some 0-3 during that time, but mostly newborn. She is solidly in 0-3 now, and some are getting snug on her. She is short but has long legs, so I attribute it to that.

She went through sizes like lighting in the beginning. Skipped nb, 0-3 until 5 weeks, 3-6 until 10 weeks, skipped 9 months, wore 12 months until 8 months and is just out of 18-24 at 18 months.

I honestly don't remember in the beginning but it was much faster compared to after 18 months. Usually a few months per size?
He's a small kid but is 26 months and wears 2T tops mostly (can wear 18-24 but I've stopped buying that size) and 12-18 shorts / 18-24 pants. My guess is he will be in 2T tops until the spring and probably 18-24 pants til then too.

I think he's the most average child ever and he has always moved up in size accordingly. Except now he has a really small booty and waist because he is out of diapers so he's wearing 12-18 and 18-24 month shorts and 2T shirts at 28 months.

@littlek: how big is he now? T is around 24 lbs and 33 inches but my mom sent some 2T j and j tops and they are huge!!!! He can easily wear 2t tops in Carter's and old navy so I told her her to get that size and they are huge.
