I think they told me not to drive for 6 weeks, I cant remember exactly. I need to call my OB to be sure but that seems a bit long to me and I have pediatric and OB appointments coming up and wish i could just drive myself. how soon did you drive after c-section?

My OB/GYN told me not to drive for 2 weeks after my c-section.

@mrbee: not really. I was given a prescription for percocet but havent even picked it up from the pharmacy yet and I think am doing ok without it

Mine told me two weeks or longer if it still hurt. I have had two and both times I didn't have pain at that 2 week appointment. She said as long as you don't have pain when you lift your foot or turn from side to side you can drive.

I think 2 weeks? I had to run to the pharmacy to pick up some meds and I just drove there myself.

My husband (family doctor) was pretty serious about the 6 week rule. But I think I snuck a drive in at four weeks. If you have to react quickly to something you might not have the ability and you could do more damage to yourself.

@annakate: Oh I see.. I guess different doctors have different opinions since my OB said 2 weeks is fine. But I guess it really depends on the individual, some people recover much faster than others

I was only on ibuprofen as needed when I drove for the first time at two weeks. I had to get to my two week follow-up and LO's first ped appointment. DH had to be back to work by that point.

9 days, they forgot to tell me anything and then they made me go for a dr. appt when DH was at work.
