I was going to put a poll broken down into five week increments and split between vaginal birth versus c-section but it was way to many options.

We waited 12 weeks to give my scar tissue time to heal. Vaginal birth with a 1st degree tear.

7 weeks and probably should've given it another couple of weeks.
ETA: Vaginal birth + 2nd degree tear.

We weren't cleared at 6 weeks (tear was still healing) and I was still in pain.
Unsuccessful attempt at 10 weeks--it was a miserable failure that had me crying and D totally freaked out. I asked him to keep going to just get it over with, but tears aren't sexy, who knew? It hurt WAY more than losing my virginity. Probably still not fully healed then.
Successful at 13 weeks. And it was goood.
ETA: Vaginal birth with a second-degree tear on top of an episiotomy.

We tried at 8 weeks and failed. So uncomfortable! We tried again at 12 and still not comfy. We tried again later on and was successful.

11 weeks but I had a 3rd degree tear so was super paranoid for a while.

I think we waited 12 weeks. (I blame colic, PPD and some major family stuff) At least by that time I was healed from my vaginal birth with some tearing and it was good

Somewhere around 9.5 weeks. My midwife cleared us at my 6 week appointment but I wasn't quite ready (vaginal birth with 2nd degree tear that was an "interesting" shape and therefore hard to stitch up properly/slow to heal)...and then DH kept forgetting to buy condoms, so he couldn't have been that desperate. When we got around to it, it wasn't the best ever but it didn't hurt, thankfully.

4 weeks, somehow I felt bad for dh! Vaginal birth, no tears (just labial graze) it hurt but not as bad as I was expected. My midwife cleared me for sex at the 1 week pp check (said it was up to me when I felt comfortable enough). Already told dh that he'll be waiting alot longer when we have baby number 2.

7 weeks 1st degree upward labial tear. It was quick--um hello newborns don't sleep long! Certain positions still present alot of wierd pressure (25 weeks pp) but for the most part normal. The best advice I have is don't rush it, you've been through major traum that only time can heal.

...3...weeks. C-section. I think I must've made the recovery look like a breeze, because DH was all up ons.

5 weeks. 2nd degree tear. The first time we tried we didn't quite...ahem...get it in all the way because it hurt SO bad but the second time was really good.

I voted 13-18w, but I think it was more like 12w? It was on the second attempt... I had some healing issues too.

Between 4 and 5 weeks with #2- vafubal birth with no tears.

8 weeks with #1, vaginal birth, internal and labial tears that were stitched
2 weeks 5 days with #2, vaginal birth, minor peri tear that didn't need stitches

I think it was almost 5 months before we were successful (we tried sooner!). Vaginal birth, complicated second degree tears...over 30 stitches. Not fun.

I don't want to be Debbie Downer here but it took me much longer. We tried at 8 weeks but it wasn't bearable until 10 months. It still takes some major psyching up to DTD at 1 year. My doctor thinks weaning will make a big difference.

I honestly don't remember!! I had a c-section, and I think we waited about two months.

5 weeks. Vaginal birth with episiotomy. I had absolutely no pain or soreness down there post partum & I was really missing my husband (not just sexually, just all around felt distant from him) so I thought it would be a good idea. Nope. It was uncomfortable probably for the next 3 or 4 times after too. I don't think it felt normal/good until about 3 months PP.
