LO is a July baby. We dressed her in short sleeved onesies.

My due date is 4/30 but I'm up north so weather is unpredictable so I got her a couple long sleeve footed onesies. But for 3months + all I got were short sleeve onesies.

DD was born 6/8; I mostly had her in short-sleeve onesies and a swaddle, or she was in the light cotton, long-sleeve sleep n' play outifts. It's generally in the 80's here in the summer time, so a little cooler than where you are.

I would have my LO swaddled or in long sleeves, but have the house nice and cool.

@mediagirl: Our pediatrician said that especially in the heat, the baby feels the same thing that you feel (temperature wise). Don't cover her up in blankets or put her in something that you wouldn't want to be wearing! I say if it's too hot for you to wear long sleeves, it is too long for LO to be in long sleeves.

In NICU we always teach the "one layer more than you" rule, so if you are comfy in shorts and a t-shirt, a short sleeves onesie, shorts, and light blanket is probably appropriate. If you are feeling warm in shorts and a tank top, just a short sleeve onesie is probably best. I have noticed that 90% of the time, parents err on the side of over-dressing/over-covering their babies! For spring/summer babies stock up on the lightweight (muslin) swaddlers!

The multipacks of onesies at Carters are cheap enough (if you have a coupon for an additional 20% even moreso) that I'd buy a set of long sleeved and short sleeved.

Last summer we dressed DS in onesies and one piece outfits. I always had an Aidan and Anais blanket with us (they are awesome). They were great to block the sun and light enough if it was breezy, but not heavy enough to make DS too hot.

Our weather here is changing by 10-30 degrees from day to day, so we've had to be prepared for anything. Monday DS was hot in a short sleeved onesie and light knit pants, and the next day he had a fleece coat and hat on.

Get the short sleeve because you can always add a blanket. Also there are these short sleeve side snap tees. This is what we used because we didn't have to put them over his head and we had access to the diaper. Especially at the doctors because you have to undress them for weight and everything.

Most of the time my little one just had a diaper on.
