I have dozens of videos from my son's first year. I wanted to make a DVD but is that not the best way these days?! I feel like DVD players are becoming obsolete...
How have you transferred your videos off your phone onto a viewable platform? I am open to online video creators.

iMovie is the best for this, but it's only available for Macs. Windows Movie Maker is free for Windows users, but I don't have any personal experience with it. You can share the final product on Facebook, YouTube, or Vimeo. Shutterfly also has a video sharing feature now.

I'm trying to figure this out, now, too. I've used Windows Movie Maker for the past 3 years for D's birthday videos, but our new computer is a Chromebook, so it doesn't have Windows. So far I'm leaning towards just using YouTube, but I'm not sold on it yet. There are tons of other apps out there, but I need to research what might be the best option. Hoping someone here pipes in with a suggestion!

@macintosh: Yeah, the problem with WeVideo (at least from my minimal time looking at it) is you're limited with video length/size. The birthday videos I make for the kids usually end up being about 10-12 minutes long, and I don't think you can make videos more than 5 minutes on WeVideo. I need to look more, though.

@littlebug: yeah the free platform is 5 minutes. I have probably 3 hours of film! They sell 2 other packages, might have to spring for the $69 a year unlimited plan

Checking in over here.....would love to string together all my (very) short videos from my iPhone into one long continuous running video....
I don't even need/want to edit, just want bigger chunks put together! I'm going to look into the WeVideo...

So I went for the monthly plan with WeVideo. I figured I'd pay for 2 months (January and February when I'm actually making the kids' birthday videos) and then cancel it. It's ok. I don't like that you have to manually add in transitions between every single photo (I was making photo slideshows with videos thrown in every now and then). The set music they have is terrible, but you can add your own music (which was difficult because I'm still figuring out how to move my iTunes stuff into Google Play). I'd add things to my media folder but then wouldn't be able to find it until I logged out and logged back in. The whole process felt clunky and wasn't very intuitive. But the end result is fine for what I'm making.
