@mrsjazz: thank you for this thread - my husband and I were just talking last night about how to talk to our daughter about mass shootings, since they happen multiple times a week and show no signs of stopping. She's asked some questions and it's clearly something we need to figure out how to address, sadly.

@daniellemybelle: Glad someone had a book recommendation on talking about gender/transgender. I have a cousin who has just "come out" as transgender/is transitioning, and I was wondering how to approach this topic with LO as well.

I like how it says for children under 6, to give a "one sentence story." Sometimes I think we want to over-explain.

LO is too young for all of this but I have had a hard enough time answering questions about death - ugh. This is a tough part of the job.
