Another post got me thinking...if you had an easy time BFing with LO#1, was it also easy with #2? Or vice versa? I was anxious about BFing while pregnant, but we have luckily encountered very few problems so far. I guess I sort of assumed it would probably be the same when we eventually have another, but I guess that might not be true!

I had great experiences both times.. no mastitis, cracking or bleeding, good latches. My 2nd time was a breeze in comparison to my 1st though. I was a little nervous about nursing a newborn again, but it was easy and very natural.

Very easy, no complaints. The first time was awful for the first month but it got better.

I was wondering the same thing! With my first, while it was uncomfortable and somewhat hard for the first few weeks, we haven't had any major issues, so I'm hoping that means it will be the same for number 2. And that this keeps up through a year with C.

Sooo much easier the second time. I wasn't able to breastfeed my first and had to EP. I had zero experience breastfeeding and was scared that I would fail with DS2. I'm so glad that everything fell in place, and we haven't had any issues.

For me it's been a bit harder. LO #1 was a breeze BF/pumping. However #2 is a lazy nurser so I need to pump 75% of the time, but trying to occupy #1 as I pump/feed had been challenging for me and I've already started to supplement because I can't get the balance of 2 LOs yet.

DS1 and my experience was hard. He didn't latch well and when he did, he was drinking but constantly seem uncomfortable. I pumped to get my supply up, took all sorts of herbs, teas, drank tons of water, etc but never seemed to have enough. Also had many many clogged ducts which made the experience that much more stressful.
With DS2, its been AMAZING. UH-MAY-ZING. He's almost 7 months and I haven't dealt with any major clogged ducts, supply issues, or latching problems. He's a pro.

First was SUPER tough... as what most first time moms would say. With my second, easy breezy. Hope it's the same for you when that time comes. I think experience matters a lot. It was definitely less stressful and more successful early on even if I still had to supplement the first week b/c of weight drop. He's almost 2 and has zero problem with weight now!

My first time was horrible- latch issues, recurrent thrush, vasospasms, nipple refusal, reflux, etc. I exclusively pumped for almost all of the first 3 months of his life and after that we switched to formula.
Number 2 has been an absolute dream!!! It was painful during the first week but since then everything has been perfect. I love it!

I had a fairly easy go of it first time around - yes, it hurt like a B for the first three or four weeks, and I did battle clogged ducts fairly regularly until I started tasking lecithin, but overall, it wasn't terribly difficult and we had a great, 13 month BF'ing relationship.
With this one, we're 11 days into it and it has been easier in that I know what I'm doing, but it's also been more painful. The excruciating pain at latch on is starting to fade a bit now, but I was totally unprepared for the afterbirth cramps during every feed for the first several days! Fortunately, those have gone away now and things are going well.
So yes, in many ways it is easier, but it also had a different pain element I wasn't expecting!

@Ree723: yes! I used to dread feedings in the hospital because of the intense after birth cramps. One nurse told me they get progressively stronger/intense with each pregnancy.
