Everyone is weird in their own way... but some people are definitely weird than others.

I judge weirdness by a somewhat arbitrary measure: overall, how different are your preferences from the norm? I know these days that people say that there's no such thing as a norm and that we are all weird... but I do think that averages still exist.

For me personally, I often feel pretty weird. Part of it is that I am half-Japanese, and a lot of things about me didn't make sense until I went to Japan and met a whole country of people that were very similar to me. That helped me feel much more normal. Still, the cultural difference often leads me to feel very different in my day-to-day life.

But even beyond that, I feel like I am often running into things about myself that are pretty different/weird. I have trouble relating to a lot of people that I meet, because sometimes the chasm is just too big. It's at times like that that I sometimes wish I was more normal... or maybe that I could meet more people that are weird in the same way that I am. The problem is, I don't really know where my type of weirdos hang out.

That said, I do my best to fake being non-weird... as a courtesy to the general public.

How weird are you?
