T is 29 months and doesn't nap when he goes to school (9-3 two days). They try and he's the only kid in the class who doesn't nap. He does NOT listen to me when we leave school (runs away won't hold my hand, throws himself on the ground when we get to the car) and yawns the whole way home. And sometimes falls asleep on our 10 min drive home. In which case I let him sleep for however long he wants (usually only 45 mins-hr). If he doesn't car nap, usually does fine until dinner time and then is a disaster. We put him down early when he doesn't nap, but he will only sleep 11 hours (as opposed to 10). The next day he often will take a longer nap and usually one day on the weekend will take a super long nap (for him, over 2 hours is super long).

I had a feeling he may not nap at school since they do nap earlier than he prefers (they put the kids down at 1230 and at home he goes in his bed at 1 or 115). they sleep on mats there but he did sleep on a mat at his prior school 4 months ago. Half days are an option but I would have to send him 5 days which I don't want to do since I SAH. And I don't want to pull him from school entirely because he absolutely loves it. And we are having another baby in the next 4-7 weeks.

We have had some nap issues at home the past few months as well - I think primarily due to molars but who really knows why. So I'm not sure he would be napping every day at home either.

A few questions - would you let the car nap happen? Would you push for half days at school but maybe do 3 days? See if he can nap later? Let it go?
