I get asked this all the time while pregnant and I never know how to answer it!
I usually say something like "still in there" or "I don't know...swimming around, hanging out". I mean really...how do I know? I mean, I can't actually see or feel (yet) the baby.
How do you answer this question?

I have no idea! Except people won't ask me "How's the baby?" instead they ask "How's the bump?" I'm like "errr, growing??!"

lol I just say doing well/everything looks great, etc. It really is such a strange way to ask. Why not just ask how I'm feeling or how my recent appointments went?

@anbanan15: @Cara M. 17: I agree! A simple "how are you?" would suffice as that technically still includes the baby's wellbeing!

I think it's nice that people ask at all. When I'm asked, I say, "We're doing great." Next time, maybe they'll as about the both of us.

Always! I would just say, "growing!" or "really cute in her latest ultrasound!"

I usually say "still growing!" or something. Or something about being active (seriously, I get kicked in the abdomen day and night. DH says it's hyperactive already.)
