Our closest friends we kept running into at the playground and around the neighborhood. We first met at our neighborhood block party though. Our other closest parent friends their child went to daycare with Charlie and Olive.
Pretty much most of our parent friends we've met through daycare! There are people we chat with at the playground because we see them all the time, but we haven't made any playdates yet.

One at a newborn breastfeeding support group at the hospital where I delivered. Others at a center where we go for playgroups and open play. I'm so grateful for my mom friends!

My closest parent friends are my SIL and her partner and another couple we were already friends with. We all had little boys in 2013 
I also joined a month group on weddingbee and we're a pretty tight-knit group now. I go to mothers group on Mondays but there's not any of us and I wouldn't say we're all that close.

We were already friends with them before kids. Mainly church and the playground, though. I'm trying to work on building those playground relationships.

So many different places - my birthing class, mom meetup group, music program, and parent-tot swim time at the local pool. I've met other moms at story time but I just see them there and don't plan play dates with them or get together outside of story time.

Parenting social groups. There is a huge mommy expat community here. To a lesser extent, playgrounds and parents from daycare.

Besides family, we usually meet parent friends through preschool/school, or they were friends from our childhood/college who are parents now too.

Funny enough... Friends of Friends... when Friends of Friends found out we had a kid they started communicating with us more. It felt weird to kind of bypass our mutual friends (that don't have kids yet) but it turned out really well.
