Advice please! I have just been offered a new job (yahoo! ) but the thing is I'm 18 weeks pregnant and didn't mention it in the interview. I have really started showing so it is going to be hard to hide it. How/When should I tell them?

If it was me, I would tell them immediately. You'll also want to know their family leave policy ASAP. Many times you won't be eligible for any paid leave (if offered) if you haven't worked at that place for a year. It would be good to know before considering an offer. Also, in my opinion, because you don't want to start there with them thinking you're not honest and forthright. They'll appreciate your candor and I think if they were going to hire you, it won't impact that.

I think you need to disclose it before accepting the job and find out what their policy is on leave. Beyond paid leave, you might not even be eligible for any sort of job protected leave if you haven't been with the company for a year by the time you deliver.

@Meagan2014: i would tell them when you accept the job. I accepted a job when I was 8 weeks pregnant, and told my boss then, and her reaction (that's awesome, congratulations) spoke volumes about the kind of place it is to work. (And I was due/projected to be on leave during the busiest time of year for my position.) I started the day i was 13 weeks pregnant.

I may be in a similar situation next week (final interview yesterday and I'm 15 weeks!).
If given an offer, I plan to call the hiring manager and tell him my news and that I will need to take a leave in late January. Understanding that this is not ideal, what can they offer in terms of leave? And then I'll have the information to make an educated decision on if I should accept.
