Did I miss the thread? Who's read it? Who's seen it? I downloaded it on my Itouch on Friday and just finished book 1. Awesome. It's the first fiction book I have read (aside from LO's stories) in many many years. I was wondering if Book 2 and Book 3 were just as good. Please no spoilers!

I read all three. I enjoyed the first one but disliked the main character by the end of book 3. I wish the books had been better written. I am in the minority though - most people absolutely adore them.

Read all 3 and loved them, but also accepted them for what they're worth--quick, entertaining reads. DH just read the first one, and now we want to see the movie!

I read all 3 books (twice) and went and saw the movie this weekend. I wasn't a huge fan of the third book, it seemed very rushed, but I loved the first 2.

I just finished the first book yesterday and started the second shortly after. I really like them so far. I was a little annoyed with how the first one just ended and I've heard I should expect it with the next two books too. Ugh! I hate that!

I read all three books last year and then read the first one again last week. I saw the movie on Sunday and it was amazing. They did a great job adapting it in my opinion.

I loved reading this trilogy! Like others have mentioned, I felt book 3 was rushed. I haven't seen the movie yet (and I'm dying to go), but I heard it's pretty darn close to the book! Sweet!

Read all 3 and loved them. Saw the movie in IMAX over the weekend and loved it too. I'll probably see it again at some point just to take it in better because I was just so excitedthe first time.

I have about 80 pages left in the second book. It definitely isn't as exciting as book one, which I couldn't put down. The writing is nothing special at all, but the story lines keep me reading.
I'm just waiting for a friend to finish book one and then she, DH and I are going to go see the movie.

I read all 3 books. They were good books. I definitely wanted to keep reading. I think I finished the last two books in 4 days while on Christmas break. Out of the three books, I liked the first one the most.

I read it Thursday night. Very good! The movie seemed slow paced in comparison but they followed it well. My sister just brought me book 2 so I will probably be reading that while lo nurses.

Read all three and seen the movie! The movie followed the book pretty closely, so I was very happy! A couple things were different, but most was spot-on! Great books/movie!

Read all three, but I'm waiting a bit to see the movie to avoid the crowds. Movie lines are crazy around here. I loved the storyline, but I hated the main character by the last book. My friends say the fact that she is so flawed is one of the shining points of the books, which is a good point, but that doesn't mean I have to like her.

@joyjoy: movie lines are definitely crazy. we went to a matinee on a Sunday and got to the theatre 50 minutes early and it was already sold out!I have read all three books and have seen the movie. I think the books were amazing and the movie was a good adaption.. but I was sad it left out so much detail.

I read all of the books and loved them, especially the first and second! The third book wasn't my favorite but it wasn't a bad book. We saw the movie last weekend and really really liked it. I can see why they made the changes/adaptations that they had to make.

I read all 3 really quickly and loved them. They're not the most intellectual books or anything, but they were entertaining and engrossing. Hubby's taking me to see the movie on Sunday for my birthday. It's all I asked for - Hunger Games and dinner at P.F. Chang's!

@tequiero21: Did you read the books? I'm curious what you didn't like about the movie. My brother didn't love the movie either - he was annoyed by the action scenes. Jerky camera movements make it really hard to follow the action.

@Adira: yup, read all 3 books and enjoyed them. i felt the movie was so choppy and i only understood it because i read it. otherwise, i'd be like what? that doesn't make sense! i felt like the movie was all over the place and didn't really build the story; rather, just followed events from the book that just didn't flow right. i agree with jerky camera movements, especially in the beginning. my hubby didn't like the movie either - he didn't read the book - he just didn't like the whole premise, didn't think it made sense. he enjoyed the action scenes.

@tequiero21: I am curious how people who didn't read the books thought about the movie. I actually thought the same thing a couple times - "I wonder if people who didn't read the books are following this part..." Especially when they did the couple flash back scenes to the bakery, I thought for sure people must be confused by that, haha. But my husband, who hasn't read the books, said he liked the movie, so he must've been able to follow it. I liked the movie, but I definitely understand your point of view as to why you didn't.

I agree with the comments about the main character and kept noticing her self centeredness. I can see how it's only going to get more irritating with her 'confusion'.
I love how it's a 'brand new world' with the Games so it's very unpredictable. That's what I think makes book 1 the best. You have no idea what's coming next (besides her love life and the bird pin). It's been so long since I've read fiction so I enjoyed the escape. I've been reading baby books for the past year, so even reading about teens was the most 'adult' thing in a long time. I was never a big fiction reader though.
I will definitely finish the books this month. Went to work yesterday and found out my coworker also finished book 1 this week and is flying through the second two to pass on to me. Yippee!
Another coworker commented on the fact that she heard about the children killing children controversy. All I can say is --people should not judge this or any book by its cover. I think people should read a book before they start condemning it.
