A lot of people respond to Mrs. Bee's posts with a "Mr. Bee: "... so I'm realizing we need to differentiate our icons/avatars more.
I'm thinking about just giving my Mr. Bee icon a blue tint. What do you guys think?

I say lose the wand. I don't know why, but when I see it my brain automatically thinks it's Mrs. Bee instead of you. Plus, it seems more on the cartoony side. I'd be interested to see what the blue tint would look like...

Would Mrs Bee do a bow on her head? I would have to see a blue bee to be able to better judge. I'm having a hard time picturing it!

What about glasses? Or a bigger bow tie? You aren't as big as Mrs Bee, or have as dark of wings, maybe you need to be "seen" more.

I think turning your icon blue would alleviate the problem once and for all! I admit that even having the differences pointed out, sometimes I read a response from your or Mrs. Bee and thing "well that's weird..." and then realize it was the other person commenting!

I think a different color bee would definitely help rather than just adding more accessories. Just adding accessories would still probable be too subtle of a differential. Can we see some examples and then we can give our opinions just like how you've done with some other things like the tagline?

Isn't there another member that has a blue bee icon (bluestriped bee)? I know her avatar is very different from yours but the coloring would be similar. Have you considered another color or is blue your favorite?

lol. I say go for the top hat, moustache, monacle... just keep going til you're one big black blur.
I do think a tint would be good! or maybe a blue cloud around you or something instead of the wand. Something very noticeably different from Mrs. Bee at first glance.
Maybe you should be upside down. Haha.

What if you gave Mrs. Bee pink wings instead of blue and you got the blue wings.

I'd like to see a more masculine bee. Maybe a brown and yellow striped body with wings outlined in black. Also make the shoulders/torso beefier (maybe a swimmer's V). Oh, and lose all the paraphernalia

Go for it! A blue bee would be fun, and I personally love your magic wand and bowtie. But I have to admit, a little colour difference would for sure make it easier to differentiate between your icon and Mrs. Bee's.

Color change would help - I agree that the differences between your avatar and Mrs Bee are so subtle that I still confuse the icons!

I'm not sure if blue is natural for a bee but I agree a change might be good, I can't tell you and Mrs Bee apart at a glance.

Yes, please- in this heightened state of hormones my brain gets confused very easily. The more you can differentiate the easier it is for me
