We brought bailey home today, she has spent most of the day sleeping. Our older dogs arent quite convinced that she belongs here yet but they have beem tolerating her nicely. She's really curious about them, so hopefully theyll be ready to play tomorrow

@owlteach: Congrats!
We adopted our second dog before Christmas. I was holding out to get pregnant but after 18 months of TTC and it was time to be a family of 4! Our dogs totally count!

So cute! We are on a similar situation. We are on cycle 4, put out 12 year old down at the end of December. We contacted a breeder to potentially get a dog in the apring... Well got a phone call on Tuesday that a litter of 10 pure labs are being rescued this weekend. We are going to meet then on Sunday... And if all goes well wih the vet on Monday am one will go home with us on Monday night ..... Our 1.5 year old mutt is anxious for a friend. I am not so sure on this whole young puppy thing. They are only 7 weeks old......

@MrsScottish: ohhh..exciting I was nervous about a puppy, and I have to admit that I do kind of push a lot of the puppy responsobilities on dh because "he wanted the puppy afterall" lol. Our older dogs are just so much less work than a puppy, but she does give the sweetest snuggles and it is oind of nice to be needed too!

@owlteach: Here is a picture of my dogs.
The new dog is the one on the right. A 4 year old cocker spaniel. My other dog is a shar pei mix.

Love your puppy! So sweet!
We ended up with a kitten for similar reasons. If circumstances had been different with our careers and house, I think we would have gotten a puppy instead.

@LovelyPlum: do you have a shorthair? We do too and she was actually really good around babies as a puppy. Wild city, they are though!
@owlteach: cute! I like having a big dog too ... especially before dh when I lived alone in the country.

@T.H.O.U.: No, I didn't create a thread or anything. I mentioned it briefly in an IF update that we adopted a second dog before Christmas. With the holidays, I was so busy that I didn't have time to HB.
I did announce it on FB and IG.

@bluestriped bee: adorable They seem to have accepted each other much more quickly than ours did! Dh's grandma adopted an older cocker spaniel and he is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever met.

@owlteach: I didn't see that you got to bring her home. Congrats-she is so sweet!
@MrsScottish: I can't wait to see pictures!!!
@Greentea: we have an English, mostly by accident. We adopted her thinking that she was a "lab mix"-HA! Were we ever in for a surprise! She's small, though, so she's either a pocket purebred or a mix with all of the breed traits for a pointer. Having gotten a pointer, though, I could never go back! I them!! I can only imagine them with a baby, though. I'm glad to hear that the pup and baby were good together, but I can only imagine how crazy that must have been!
@bluestriped bee: love!
