OMG! I SOOOOOO need to do this to MIL.

Sometimes I think we live parallel lives.

    Go you!!!

@grizz: @oliviaoblivia: @MamaMoose: @Rubies: LOL I don't condone the behavior, but it worked for me.

@ms.janedoe: @HabesBabe: @MrsCastro: I know!! It's like she didn't believe what he said or something, so she had to show them to me anyway.

Lol how typical that your DH would FINALLY discus in 10 minutes before you do. Well at least it's been said!

Awesome! MIL does this too, drives me crazy. She actually said, "All the genes come from the sperm, all you do is carry them." Well, fuck you very much.

@ladyfingers: OMG! That's so rude. And a really poor understanding of genetics.

My IL's do this kind of thing, too. They sit and stare at DS and go "I just can't figure out who he looks like..." but they're only grasping for people in their own family. They only conceded once, grudgingly, that he doesn't have DH's nose and so he *might* have mine. Or if it's a feature we both have similar, it came from DH obviously.

Sometimes a little liquid courage is a good thing! I'm glad you said something, that would drive me nuts, too!!

Good job to you!! You were tactful even while tipsy and it's probably better out in the open.

Fair play to you! At least she will (hopefully) think before she speaks in future!

my MIL always said that DD had DH's nose whenever she saw an ultrasound. He has a button nose and I have a pointy nose. Thanks.

@ladyfingers: ouch! As a zoology geek, that makes me facepalm. As a mom, it pisses me off! Give her a Biology 101 book for Christmas!

@lemondrop: LOL - @ladyfingers should totally do that! Attach a note that says "since you seem so interested in genetics, I figured that this book would be an interesting read for you"
