I always had phones with keyboards (I was so sad when Palm went under... I had a Treo then a Centro, then a Pixi) so when it was time to go smartphone, I got a droid with a slide out keyboard. I then went on to a Droid Pro (which looks kind of like a Blackberry... a bar phone with a small screen and a keyboard right on it), then back to a slide out keyboard. Now I have a Samsung Galaxy Nexus, my first official non-keyboard phone, with the reassurance of everyone around me that I'd get used to the virtual keyboard.
Years later I still hate it!!! I've been using Swiftkey and I still hate it. I miss the physical tactile sensation of a real keyboard and I hate the lag for the keyboard to pop up on the bottom of the screen. But phones with physical keyboards are just so few and far between now. Ugh. I could go back to the Droid 4 with the slide-out keyboard (Wagon Sr. has it right now and he and I could switch) but I wasn't crazy about the sliding action either. I miss my Palm Centro most of all. I loved typing on that thing.
Anyone else HATE a virtual keyboard??
