So I've loved the song We Are Young by Fun. since I heard it. Totally sing-along-able. Until yesterday I was singing along and actually paid attention to the lyrics for the first time. And I'm pretty sure that it's about a guy who beat up his girlfriend. And not only that-- he won't even call her his girlfriend. He calls her his lover-- which is a term I hate because it reduces a woman to one aspect of their relationship, as though the sex is all he's there for.

Sort of like when I found out Sweet Caroline was written about Caroline Kennedy as a child. Which is super pervy.
