My BIL and DH are deep frying ours tomorrow. We have an oil less fryer. I can't wait to taste the turkey. I haven't had a fried one in years!

@Leialou: We are doing the oil-less thing this year too. We used to always have fried turkey back home, but it doesn't seem too popular up here (MD).

DH is frying one tomorrow, we do one every year! I am glad bc it gets me out of cooking it! We have the regular fryer and the infrared greaseless one, but he said he's going all out tomorrow- frying it up in some oil;)

My dad has deep fried a few turkeys, and it is DELICIOUS. I wouldn't do it every time, but I like it as a treat.

I don't even know where to get that unless I make it myself, but I don't fry anything. I want to try it!

My BIL is "frying" one tomorrow. I found out today that it's an oil-less fryer. I can't wait to try.

I am actually against fried turkey. It is so dangerous and many people do not take proper safety precautions. Every year my brother, a firefighter, risks his life putting out house fires because of carelessness. I know that not everyone is careless, it just kills me every year knowing that he is putting himself in danger for a stupid fried turkey.
Sorry about the rant! Everyone please be safe if you are frying!

I had it one year because the hosts of our Thanksgiving dinner were from the UK...when ordering the Turkey from caterers they were given the choice of oven baked or fried. They didn't know what was traditional and ordered the fried version, telling us "Americans fry everything, don't you?!"
I had a hard time arguing that point, but was a little bummed that we've got a global reputation for deep frying everything edible.

Yum! Fried turkey is so yummy and juicy! My dad has fried a turkey for the passed few years. I'm a little bummed that we didn't get to eat any this year!

It sounds gross-I don't typically eat fried food-BUT DH's uncles flavor inject it and fry it up and it stays SO moist and flavorful. Everyone else loves the crispy skin, but I dont

We fry the turkeys at work when we have our annual potluck. It's delicious! So moist and not much different from a regular roasted turkey except for the skin.
