Holy crap, I just gave my notice at work!
My husband took a 1 year surgery fellowship in New Mexico starting August 1. We are selling our condo, packing it up, I'm quitting my job (I'm going to SAH for a year!), and we are moving cross-country in July!
I've been so nervous about telling them, but it went really well. They were very gracious and supportive. I'm going to work for another month. Eeek!

I gave my notice for 3 weeks from now yesterday! I was SOOO nervous but it went well too

@winniebee: no, I've got a few companies I'm talking with, but nothing yet. Our house sold, so we are moving either way! I secretly hope it takes me a month to find job after we move so I can have a mini-break haha

Whoa! COngratulations!!! We just (like, 2 days ago) made a cross-country move for my husband's job. So, all in the span of 1.5 weeks we're experiencing: new city/province, new jobs, new daycare (well, first ever!), new house and new car!

Congrats! I'm moving cross country for my DH's 4th year rotations (and hopefully residency) in 2 months. I was secretly hoping to SAH as well when we move but it looks like my work may let me work remotely
What kind of surgery fellowship? General or something specialized?

@winniebee: He is doing well so far! We are in a hotel suite until we close on our house and our contents arrive (next Mon/Tues). I'm pretty sure he will be way happier in our house than in a hotel :). He starts his daycare transition next week so I may be singing a different tune then!
I'm sure your LO will do awesome. Hopefully you won't have to go through this short period of limbo that we're going through!

@smocks: orthopedic surgery! the fellowship is sports medicine. what about your hubby?
@Sammyfab: that's great! we don't totally know yet- we have a rental lined up but may be staying in a hotel for a few days when out there if the current tenants havent moved when we arrive!

@winniebee: that's awesome! Did he used to play sports? I know that specialty has a reputation of being former jocks, haha. Everyone asks DH if he's going into ortho bc he used to play baseball. He's going for emergency medicine though. It'll be interesting doing EM rotations in Detroit!
