So forgive me if this seems pretty 'durr' but it just came to me when I was posting on the other party planning thread (and those people are totally not overboard, I commend their ability to plan and organize ahead!).

Here's my situation: DS will be turning two at the end of January which puts us having to celebrate right before he actually turns two or a little into February because of the Superbowl (I ran into this problem last year). DD was born the very first part of March. She'll be turning one.

We just got a new-old house this past spring so we have plenty of room to host a small family and friend gathering (about 15 max) so that saves on the cost of a venue. And I was thinking... Since they're so close together age wise and time of the year wise, I can just buy some supplies and use them for both parties but in a different way!

My idea (thanks in large part to @yin) is that DS gets a Daniel Tiger themed rainbow party and DD gets a rainbow themed party too! Her party needs a focus so it doesn't seem like big brother's leftovers but what do you think? If I do rainbow for him bu play up the red and then do rainbow for her but play up the purple or blue or something... Would it work?
