Anyone have one they really like? One that holds a few towels, sunscreen, dry snacks, wet wipes, etc.

Mine is a $1 bag from Marshalls/TJ Max. They are HUGE and hold soo so much, but they aren't designed to be a beach bag so they don't have pockets or anything. My main goal is fitting everything in there so I can sling it over my shoulder and only need to make one trip. And, they are easy to replace if your sunscreen bottle is in the bottom and empties out completely in the corner...no amount of washing can eliminate that smell! (yes, this just happened haha)

Mine is a reusable grocery bag, it looks ridic, I realize, but it keeps the sand and water, doesn't cost a lot, if it gets wrecked, it's not a big deal, etc etc.
I keep our sand toys in a mesh laundry bag, so the sand can just sift right out.

@Mrs. Lion: I wonder if I could sew pockets in one???
@looch: yes we do use a mesh laundry bag for sand toys - that works great!!!
right now I have a canvas from LL bean but its so heavy when its empty so when you add stuff its a pain!!!

@looch: That is genius! We don't have sand toys yet, but I will definitely be doing the same!

I LOVE my huge LL Bean tote. It fits everything and is easy to carry.

@Mamaof2: If someone can do this http://sisterssuitcaseblog.com/2012/03/reusable-shopping-bag-to-apron.html I am most certain that you can add pockets You should do a guest post on how to so that we can all use your method when you are done! hehe

I also have a L.L. Bean boat bag. It's a monster! But all of our stuff fits and is pretty easy to find (no pockets, so once the towel is out, you have a pretty clear view of everything). I particularly like that it stands up on its own, so it's easy to see when you're in the water. My main complaint is that it takes a while to dry out, but it seems to always be dry by the next day.
As for weight, the bag itself isn't heavy, but it's way too easy to overload it because it's so big.

@Mamaof2: The standard one (not the one with the zipper). I have never noticed it being heavy, but you are probably right.

I just got this to use as a beach bag and love it! It's pretty big and love the washable canvas material.

I use a large le Sportsac tote. There aren't any pockets on the inside, but there are several pockets on the outside. The best thing about the bag is that it dries quickly since it's not canvas. However, it doesn't stand up on it's own.

I use a Thirty-One large utility tote & it's awesome. It's huge, so I can fit everything into one bag - lunch, drinks, toys, sunscreen, towels, diapers, wipes, etc. Love not having to carry 3 or 4 different bags. Plus, it keeps it shape & it's waterproof. I have this flip flop one for the beach/pool:

I have an adorable Lilly Pulitzer beach bag but now that LO's in and out of it I use the LLBean tote. It's nice and sturdy and I don't care so much if it gets gross. I use zipper pouches inside for wallets and phones. We bring a cooler for food and drinks.

@photojane: I want one of those 31 bags so badly, but of all the women I know that sell all those ridiculous products, not one of them have ever sold 31. Rude! I know I could find a person, or buy it online, but I secretly kinda like going to those product parties... haha

@Mrs. Lion: @looch: Genius using the reusable shopping bags!!
I have a couple random canvas bags that I got as freebies from random places (career fairs, Bath and Body Works, VS, etc) that I use as beach bags, but I hate them all. Too bulky and heavy.

I use a giant ll bean canvas tote, too! It fits everything you can imagine. I just keep smaller items in bags inside.

My mom has an adorable 31 tote, and a 31 beach bag like @photojane: listed. I want one too!

@looch: that's what we use too! They're easier to clean sand off of and that's how we trasport all his beach toys. We have a few gigantic ones and I love them.
@photojane: I have a different 31 tote I also bring! I usually end up with two bags with all the toys, clothes, towels, etc that we need to bring.
