Along with a GC I would like to give a book to my DD's 1st grade teacher (DS had her as well and she was wonderful then too!)
Any teachers on here that can weigh in?

I'm sure she'd like it. But because you asked, the best presents for me as a 14 year veteran are ones that don't remind me of being a teacher- coffee or Panera giftcards or TJMaxx etc like you were already planning on giving her (again,. very sweet!). But that's just me!

Unless, if she has a kid of her own, you could probably find an endearing picture book about the value of education. I loves to read the book "Up the Learning Tree" to my students, and look forward to reading it to my kids.

You could also do a GC + a book your kids love as a donation to the classroom.
