i need netflix recommendations!

it appears i'll be vegging on the couch all wk end after some complications after my surgery last wk & i am out of things to watch

i just finished watching a season of 'the fosters' (which i loved!). i also enjoy HIMYM, call the midwife, blue bloods, orange is the new black, breaking bad, scrubs, sons of anarchy, madmen, under cover boss, weeds and shameful shows such as 19 kids & counting and sister wives . movie suggestions too, if you have them! not super scary, horror type things because i'm a big baby

Some Netflix shows I've been watching (and re-watching) Grey's Anatomy, Dexter, Parenthood, Friday Night Lights, House of Cards (do this if you haven't yet!)

Mortified Nation is a great documentary if you haven't seen it.

@Mrs. J: i wanted to watch house of cards, but we watched the first one & mr. bird wasn't feeling it, so he hasn't let us watch it again, but i have total control over the remote this wk end (remote control, haha), so i may give it another go because i thought it looked interesting!

I discovered New Girl a few weekends ago and watched an entire season in a weekend. I love it!

Also: Suits, Covert Affairs, White Collar (gosh, I need to turn of the USA shows), Secret Life of American Teenager (gets weird after a few seasons), SVU (I default to this a lot since there are sooo many seasons), and Criminal Minds.

I watch too much TV. I would say my favorites are Covert Affairs and New Girl.

movies: there are some pretty good foreign films to watch. we liked: IP Man .. ugh there are more but I can't remember now!

@MrsTal: sooooo... i kind of read the gossip girl book series (in the privacy of my own home & ordered via amazon so i didn't have to admit to reading a series for tweens ) and haven't watched the show because i know they can't be as good as the books, hahahahaha. things i should keep to myself i love a cheesy book now and then!

@hotchildinthecity: oooo, i do love me some crazy! i've never watched that, but it looks good!

@IRunForFun: i'm sure it does, it sounds like it's great, mr. bird is just picky sometimes, but i will be occupying 4 days on the couch so i am guessing i'll have plenty of time to watch shows without him

I have 3 weeks left of maternity leave.

So far, I've watched all of House of Cards and Scandal. I highly recommend both. I tried to re-watch Dawson's Creek, but after about 5 episodes, I decided I was too old to find it amusing. I'm thinking of starting Gossip Girl next. Not sure that's any more "grown up" than Dawson's Creek though

@Mrs. Sunshine: aww, thanks! i frequently tell my husband not to laugh at my jokes because they're so bad and it just encourages me. my humor development seemed to stunt at a kindergarten level, but i'm glad i could entertain

@sorrycharlie: scandal is good! i've seen a bunch of them, but i think it would be even better from the start to watch in order

Jericho - it's a really good show about a small town in the middle of nowhere after nuclear war that knocks out all the big cities. Soo good!
