I got my hair chopped off last November, right after our wedding. My stylist did an inverted bob that I really loved. Then my stylist moved out of town and I started seeing a friend stylist, and she didn't really seem to get the whole inverted bob thing. Then I decided I wanted to grow my hair out, because I was frustrated. Now I hate my hair. I'm going in tomorrow for a cut from a brand-new stylist, and my chief concerns are these:

- I feel like I have soccer mom hair.
- I feel like my face is too round and my features not delicate enough for short hair. I also have acne issues and I feel like having short hair draws attention to my face.
- I basically feel as if my hair has no discernible shape or style at the moment.
- I haven't landed upon a style routine that works well for me, either. I've tried the no-poo Curly Girl thing, and my hair is just too fine. I currently do a modified-no-poo where I use a no-sulfate shampoo every other day, don't wash at all on the off days, and use a gel (which I'm not a huge fan of but whatever). I don't know if my issues are product related or style related or both. I do know that when my previous stylist was cutting my hair, I never felt like this, which leads me to believe it's the cut.

OK so the conundrum: Should I have him cut my hair short and return to the inverted bob? Or keep growing it out and just have him work with what's there?

Here are a couple of recent pictures. Sorry they're not super clear on the hair tip -- I'd take a shot today but I wore it pinned back.
