Coca Cola, that is!
I really should give it up but it's soooo good. I gave it up during pregnancy and most of BFing. And really I might drink one glass a week.
What bad habit do you need to give up?

I drink too much coffee. But, I love it. It would be hard to give it up, not only from the caffeine withdrawals, but I love the taste of it, too.

Carbs/Sugar - I just love baking: bread, croissants, cookies, pastry, cake, muffins. I do make it mostly myself but still I should cut down on the white flour/sugar.
I do eat fresh, healthy food otherwise - I just don't have off limit foods.

Coffee and Coke. I drink at one least Coke a day. and my coffee is about half coffee, half creamer and sugar...so..not good. It's so hard though.

@Dandelion: I love coffee too. I'm drinking half caf these days, which hopefully helps.

@Dandelion: I just love the taste of coffee! For the most part I actually don't need the caffeine portion. But gosh I love the taste of coffee!

Coke is soooo tempting. I actually have drunk more of it since having my first child -- I used to drink diet coke ALL the time, then I gave it up for pregnancy/bfing... figure the real thing is a little better at least. But my husband and I just resolved not to have it around the house because that's where both of us lose our willpower....

Coke for sure. I'm trying really hard to stop, but dang it, Coke freezes from Speedway and Coke Slurpees from 7Eleven are just what this baby wants.

I need to dial down my chocolate consumption. It's crazy.. I eat salads for lunch and then cancel out the effects with chocolate.
i think if you are only drinking one glass of Coke a week, you don't really need to give it up!

I am trying to give up the coffee habit again. I quit several years ago bc my doc recommended it (I'm high risk for osteoporosis). I slept so much better...then I had LO and I would occasionally have 1-2 cups a week as a treat in the afternoon...and now I'm back to once a day. I definitely want to stop before I TTC for #2...so I decided starting this week I'm quitting my daily coffee habit

I refuse to believe that ice cream is a bad habit or that it needs to be "toned down".
In fact, I'm pretty sure I've heard a bowl a day is the equivalent to an apple a day.

Diet coke! Giving up soda really is sooooo hard! My coworker and I are working on it together, and every day in our work cafeteria he's like, "Is it a diet coke day?" And I say, "NO." Except sometimes I say yes.... haha

I need to give up chocolate, sweets, and takeout. I'm doing Lean Cuisines and fruit for lunch. It's only taken me many months postpartum to do this. I think once we weaned and finally got our life in a better order, I can do this now.
I usually have one Coke Zero a day.

I drink way too much coffee, but I tend to get bad headaches without the caffeine (which of course is because I'm addicted). And probably beer. I almost never get drunk but I often have a beer or two at night. I just love the taste of it!

@.twist.: Peapod makes a frozen greek yogurt. My DH actually went for the pint first. I figured this helped rein in our ice cream habit. While on maternity leave, I had a really rough day with LO. DH brought me a chocolate shake to cheer me up. Since then, I associate them with him and comfort. When I had a low output pumping day, I would grab a chocolate shake to feel better. Total comfort food association, but I don't care. DH's act of service and gift really struck a chord with me.

@FutureMrsMcK: I gave up copious amounts of tea when I was pregnant and breastfeeding. Now, I'm back on my black tea. I love it so much. As much as I want to get pregnant again, another two years or so without it will suck.

I love Coke too. I don't have it at home, but it's hard for me not to buy one at lunchtime during the week. If I think I'm craving something sweet, I'll try to remember to get lemonade or add Crystal Light (Trader Joe's also has their own version of Crystal Light powder that I like) to water. And if I'm craving the carbonation, we have a SodaStream at home (and I can add Crystal Light to that too). Still, nothing beats an ice-cold Coke!

Coffee, coke, candy, carbs in general. Bad bad bad habits. But so good!

@.twist.: Ice cream = calcium, which most women don't get enough of, especially pregnant women. So, it's practically a vitamin!
For me, the only thing I'm addicted to is coffee, and I keep well within the recommended limits during pregnancy. I did wean myself off of it completely before TTC, and didn't have any during the first trimester (because it was totally disgusting to me at the time). But once I started feeling better, I just LOVE relaxing with a nice cup of coffee in the morning. I love the taste, and I love the whole process of starting my day sitting down for a cup with DH. I could switch to decaf-- I really don't think I need the caffeine at this point-- but I don't think decaf is really better for you.
Coke I can give or take-- I like it but it's rare that I crave it.

We need to quit the take-aways. It's just so easy to order a pizza or a curry... no cooking, less washing up... but we do it a couple of times a week. Not good.
I also need to give up skipping breakfast. I'm terrible for it, even during pregnancy! I just don't want to eat in the mornings and before I know it it's lunch time anyway.
cantaloupe / 6669 posts
Diet Coke is my absolute weakness! I have cut way back during pregnancy but I still have 1-2 a week. I feel guilty but I love it so much....
@Cherrybee: I'm bad about skipping breakfast too! I try to keep cereal around the house so I can eat something quick before I head out, otherwise this poor baby is fasting until lunch

@regberadaisy: lol, you always crack me up!
I have soda issues too, I'll do good avoiding it, then break down and go on a binge and have to wean off of it again.

@Cherrybee: Agreed with this--I need to work on cutting back eating out so much. I keep justifying it (easier, delicious, less clean-up, delicious...), but I really need to work on not doing it as often!
coconut / 8861 posts
@Cherrybee: Takeout is on my list of dial it down. It's tough to cook at the end of a long day, take care of baby, etc. We're getting better, but it's taken awhile to get to that point. I need to learn how to do weekend meal planning, so all we do is reheat meals during the week.

@.twist. @foodnerd81 I like the way you ladies think re: ice cream! my favorite ice cream treat right now is 90 calorie snickers ice cream bars. just enough but not so many calories that I feel guilty!

I kicked the soda habit a while back and now only have it occasionally (instead of every day with lunch). I cut back from two coffees/lattes a day to just one so that's a step in the right direction! Not sure if I'll quit completely once I'm preggers as I heard up to 200mg of caffeine is okay (and a single latte is only about 75mg of caffeine).

My snacking habit! I always seem to be hungry and the first thing I crave is chocolate, but I talk myself into some glutten free cereal, then I want another cup of coffee but I try to make myself drink water instead... ugh.. so much bad stuff...
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Boopers: I started to read that infographic and then decided it was too depressing and I'd rather not know!
I need to give up chocolate and coke (although not together - they taste terrible together)! I've been trying to be good and only have coke on the weekends, but sometimes it's hard, especially if we have burgers during the week. Eeek.

@Foodnerd81: lol! That is SUCH a good point and I'm going to bring it up with my husband. Plus! My doctor is always getting after me about more calcium!

I need to kick my dessert habit. I had GD during my last pregnancy and I am making up for lost time.

@Cherrybee: We rarely ever got take out until the past couple months... Once I got pregnant my energy levels plummeted and I quit wanting to cook. I'm trying to get dh to quit encouraging it!

snacking - I seem to snack in the afternoon out of boredom and usually feel sick afterwards because I'm not hungry and know it but snack anyways
