My husband took over the feeds after I pumped until 11 last night. I wound up sleeping past 11 today! I didn't wake up completely engorged or in pain which was surprising to both the hubs and I. Has anyone else been able to get away with this? I normally can only wait up to 5 hrs before I absolutely need to nurse or pump.

wow I am totally jealous I havent slept more than a 4 hour stretch since the baby arrived.
However in the beginning we used to formula feed at night and I woudnt pump or nurse for about 8-10 hours but I would feel very uncomfortable and in pain by the morning time, so I guess your lucky you didnt have this issue -
I can usually get away with 8 hrs overnight but then get really engorged/uncomfortable. btw-totally jelous as well!

That's awesome! I wish my DH didn't sleep like he is in a coma, he doesn't wake up for anything, so I could never trust him to take over the night time care of Sawyer, he just wouldn't ever hear him cry.

@MsMini: Sounds like my husband. Once his head hit the the pillow, he is out. He took a nap last night, and stayed up until 5 to feed our son. I woke him up around 9 to feed him, then fell back asleep. It was nice to have a good night's rest for a change. I'm taking tonight's feedings though!

Probably around 2 months LO was sleeping 8 hours and then a few weeks later 10 hours and by 3 months she was sleeping 12 hours. Early on I woke up very engorged but eventually my body adjusted and now I just wake up very full but not painful or anything. She is 6 months now and still EBF. I read that some people can't go more than 10 hours or it will start affecting their supply. We just started solids so I pump once at night now so I can build a stash and mix it with her food

My husband did that when I got sick, DS was only 4-6 weeks old i think. I pumped at 8pm, and DH was able to keep him satisfied until 3am. So it was about 7 hours for me and that's the most sleep I've gotten in the last few months since he was born
I don't think my breasts could take 12 hours though!

I'm so jealous! If I let DH take care of her, I always end up waking up with him so I don't get any extra sleep.

You are so lucky! I slept 10 hrs the other night when DD stayed at grandmas & I woke up in so much pain! And I had pumped before bed & first thing after waking up (got 15 oz just between the 2 sessions) I have oversupply issues so it took over a day for me to get back to normal... Next time DD goes over night I'll definitely be getting up to pump!

When Wagon Jr. went to one feeding at night, I was still ONLY pumping while he got a bottle feeding, so I'd pump at around 6pm and I'd go to bed completely engorged and wake up really engorged and leaking when he'd take a bottle around 2 or 3 am. Then when he started sleeping thru the night, I switched to pumping right before bed and it was SUCH a relief to be able to go to bed completely empty.
I've slept 12 hours straight a couple of times, but only when I was sick or something!

I'm feeling like I'm coming down with something now. Ugh. Maybe that is why I slept so much?
