Charlie woke up at 4 or 5 am for a long stretch in his 1s and 2s, but he's been waking up at a reasonable hour for some time now.

Then this morning he woke up at just after 5 am though, crying that he missed his mommy (he's switched teams lately). He wasn't going back to sleep and was gonna wake up his sister, so I went in there and told him it was Quiet Time and that he should just do puzzles quietly.

That did not go over very well, as he desperately wanted to leave his room. It took over an hour to get him to read quietly on his own in his room. Then after that, he decided he wanted to get dressed, and he picked out a full outfit (socks, pants, shirt and even a jacket) and put it all on (with a little help). At that point it was 7 or so, so I declared quiet time over and made him breakfast.

I guess I was really fighting the idea that he was up so early. I really liked Mrs. Hide & Seek's post about acceptance (although I'm not a mother):

I think if (when?) Charlie wakes up at 5 am again, I'm just going to accept it and start the day early. I fought it like crazy today and it ruined my morning.

Do you ever struggle with accepting that your LO is waking up early?
