I was trying to make some white chocolate popcorn for Valentine's treats. As I was waiting on the popcorn to pop, the microwave started sparking like crazy. Booo

Mine does this when I make certain things! I can't melt chocolate or micro carrots, among other things!

Bizarre..... that only happens if there is metal in our microwave.

Well, it's 10 years old, so it might be time for a new one, but it's mounted in the wall so it's going to be a pain to replace.

That happened to our old microwave. There were burn marks inside. We ended up getting a new one. Better safe than sorry.

I tried to soften mango in the microwave for S to eat ... and it sparked like nuts! It made me nervous to eat the mango.

@sorrycharlie: carrots spark in our microwave too! Even at 50% power.
