PP bleeding was always super light. Like, I could have used liners instead of pads most of the time. I thought that just meant I was super lucky (and that by OB got most of it when she had her fist up my vag digging around like there was lost treasure after DD was born). But the last few days I have felt the same almost crampy feeling I get before AF and this morning I went to the bathroom and it looks like it is back. I just stopped bleeding 2 weeks ago and now, 6 wks pp could I be right? We are EBF too which I thought was supposed to delay it some. Could it be something else or did I just get screwed out of the gift that is a few months with nothing happening in my uterus? If so, cue pouty face and stomping feet because that's not fair!

It could still be pp bleeding I think! Mine kind of went away then came back. Have you been very active? I'm almost 8 months pp and still no sign! I'm scared it's going to sneak up on me at an inopportune time though!

@JerricaBenton: is right- if you've been very active it could still be pp bleeding again. I don't know how you tell. But I do know ppl who EBF and still got af really early. Bummer!

I had a day of random spotting, at 7 or 8 weeks. I thought that it was AF but it wasn't.

Mine came back at 3 and 4 weeks and has been regular ever since. EBF for both babies.

I had a day of spotting at three months pp, April fools day no less, but didn't get AF until 5.5 months pp

I hope yours is just random spotting, but yeah, it's possible. I was BF-ing and everything. So lame!!

Something really similar happened to me - it was a bit after I had pretty much stopped PP bleeding, and it was fresh new blood, so I assumed period...and then it went away again for several months.

FWIW, I bled for 5wks, stopped for a week (like completely), and then at 6 wks it picked up again for another week before stopping. I hadn't gotten my period back by 14w pp (when I got an IUD, which changes the pp "rules")

when I went for my 6-week I'd had some heavier bleeding (my PP bleeding never completely went away) so I told them I thought I had AF. they were suspicious since I was EBF (though clearly it can happen to some) and found a polyp that was causing the bleeding. so if you haven't done your PP check-in yet definitely ask about it and have them check. I continued to have some bleeding until I had the polyp removed later (they told me it might go away on its own, but it just got bigger instead). I got AF back for real as soon as I started solids with LO (so around 7 months PP by the time AF showed up) even though I was still EBF besides solids

Mine came back at six weeks, basically as soon as LO started doing a five hour stretch overnight. Still BFing at eight months and AF is a monthly guest. Not cool.
I was also kind of appalled at my six week visit when my midwife airily said I shouldn't need to worry too much about contraception without asking about my cycle or anything. I knew better, but still.

@Mrs Hedgehog: my pp bleeding was off and on until almost 10 weeks. Sad but true!! At first I thought it was AF too, but it never got heavy enough Nd I didn't have the cramping and headaches I usually get...plus, it happened about 3 times, the bleeding would totally stop, I'd have a week off, then it would start again for a week. It's finally been totally stopped now for 2 weeks.
