I looooove traveling while Mr Bee doesn't like to travel as often as I do. Ideally we could go on at least one big trip a year, and then maybe 3-4 smaller trips within driving distance. I want to spend as much time with the kids while they still want to hang out with us!

If I had the financial means, I would love to travel once or twice a year to somewhere far away and maybe a few road trips too throughout the year (DH loves driving). Our last far away vacation was 5 years ago

Not counting trips to visit family (which I don't consider vacation). I'd be happy with 1 big trip a year and 3 - 4 small trips.

However often we can afford it! We've been really lucky that we've gotten to take one big trip (and by big I just mean we got on a plane lol) a year since we got married, but with LO coming I think we will just take 3 or 4 weekend trips around Texas for at least the first year or two. After that, my hope is as often as possible!!! I love to travel!!

Pre-pregnancy I liked to go abroad 2 or 3 times a year and then have several weekend trips in the UK. Since being preg, I haven't been interested in getting away at all - I decided I would rather stay home and save the money than go away for 2wks this May. Maybe I'll change next year, once LO is here and we're more settled.

I try to travel as much as possible!!! Not counting vacations to see family, since those are not really vacations in my eyes; we do at least 1 big trip a year, and then try to get away for long weekends every couple of months. I'd like to start doing weekends away at least 1x per month though.

I'm not sure I know my "ideal" travel time because I haven't done a lot of travelling. From what I have done I know I really enjoy it and I FEEL like I could travel a LOT more than we currently do (about once a year). My husband is a major home body and is not the best traveller so he actually stresses me out a bit when travelling. LOL.

@.twist.: My Husband was the same... the first few times we took holidays together, he would be like "how do we get back to the hotel?" "is this area safe?" "when/where are we going to eat?" I just tried to reassure him and now after many trips together he's totally fine!

@illumina: My husband gets so grumpy! If we get on the wrong road the trip is ruined and we wasted time and how could we have missed the turn and we'll never get there on time and... blah blah blah! HAHA. I've now trained him for the one trip we take a year to just enjoy the scenery. Who knows how he'd do on a flighted trip! LOL.

@.twist.: maybe he'd actually be better because it's out of his hands when you arrive etc. with flying? My previous reply all referred to one trip we took backpacking for 3wks around Italy in 2008. After that, although I swore I'd never do it, we took an all inclusive package holiday. DH was so chilled out!

ideally it will be 2 big overseas trip per year and 1-2 small trips around/in US. That was us before baby. Now it'd be heaven to plan 1 big overseas trip with couple small ones throughout the year.

Depends. I hate travelling for visiting purposes (it's just so exhausting!) but I love travelling to exotic places. If I had unlimited money, I would be going somewhere new every month.

As much as possible! I'd live out of a suitcase probably if I could! I love to travel. I feel ansty though if we don't do a weekend trip somewhere at least every 2-3 months. I feel like I need one BIG trip at least once a year, and I joke that it's in my "marriage contract" that DH has to take me to Hawaii once a year. I think this year with baby will be the first time it won't happen.

I don't really need to travel far... a trip 40 minutes away to downtown core is fine! I guess I like to make a "trip" somewhere every couple of months.

I like to travel all the time. Ideally I'd like to do a couple big trips a year, a long weekend trip every couple months, and day trips a few times over the summer and fall.
So far this year we did an extended weekend at a hotel/spa over NYE, I went to Florida for week, we're going to go to Lake Winnepesaukee for a few days for our anniversary in May, and I'd like to do 2-3 day trips over the summer. I would've liked to do a summer trip but we need to conserve vacation time for baby's arrival at the end of the year.

we are constantly taking trips to visit friends and family... but that's not real vacation. my new year's resolution was to stay in chicago two weekends per month, so far i'm juuust making it. i'm hoping people will start coming to us in november with LO

Ideally I'd travel all the time! In my dream life we would go on a beach vacation once a year, and 2-3 overseas "adventure" vacations a year. And small weekend driving distance trips in between.
Reality is one overseas vacation a year and one trip to visit my family on the other coast every year or so. Before I got pregnant we also used to do 1-2 ski weekends as well. We are pretty lucky.

I love traveling, my husband is a bit more iffy on it. We're not doing too badly this year though - had our Samoan holiday in January and we're off to Melbourne next week. As a teacher I could quite happily do four international vacations every year, although I do like holidaying in my own country as well!
