DS turns 2 in one week! Yikes! I have done zero planning, been so busy with a newborn and returning to work! We are going to have a small get together of just family and a few friends at our house.
Anyone give their LO a very minimal/simple party? What are some must haves for 2nd birthday party? Things I should leave out?

If it's nice outside, I would do an outdoor picnic with sidewalk chalk and bubbles, balloons, and cake. You can have food if you need, but simple and easy peasy!

In my family, most birthday parties are just an excuse to get together. We'll do a low key dinner like stuff on the grill or pans of lasagna depending on time of year. But, of course, there's cake!

Balloons and cake!
My LO is turning 2 in two weeks and I plan to get a ton of balloons to put around the house then re-use them the next day and bring some into daycare for her buddies. I'm going to make a balloon curtain so when she wakes up it's the first thing she sees when she leaves her room. She LOVES balloons!
I'm also going to bake her a Daniel tiger cake. We'll make her favorite dinner of homemade pasta and homemade sauce. Also going to the zoo!
