@Mrs. Polish: Thanks! And I didn't realize you were TTC, nice to have you join us over here
nectarine / 2705 posts
I'm on the edge of infertility right now...I actually feel like I'm on a seesaw, hopefully exiting on the side of pregnancy soon.
What cycle are you on? I have been TTC since July 2011. So this is my 20th cycle. We completed our 3rd IUI this month. First two IUIs were with Clomid, this last IUI was with Bravelle.
What are your plans for this cycle? I'm currently on my 3rd positive beta bloodwork test. This is HUGE! I've never seen two lines on a test or received positive news after a beta bloodwork appointment. So I plan to continue to have an increase in my hcg numbers at each of these appointments, continue taking progesterone, and move towards an ultrasound where I can really feel like this is real.
How is your attitude/outlook? I'm happy and hopeful, but cautious and anxious.
What have you struggled with most this week? I've struggled with two bloodwork appointments and waiting for the phone calls each day. I've also struggled with really allowing myself to believe that this could be it.
Diagnosis: I still need to get an appointment or phone call with my doctor to talk about this. The only "diagnosis" I can think of is that I had a fibroid removed from my uterus back in Nov '12. It was something that they caught on my HSG and confirmed in a Saline Sonogram. It was removed via hysteroscopy. Otherwise, all numbers and other tests were good for my husband and I. So either it's that I had an unwelcome guest in my uterus, or I have unexplained infertility.

@Mrs.Someone: I am. We've been TTC for 3 years, but our adoption kind of drew my attention away from it for a little while!

@sweetooth: oh my goodness. Keeping my fingers crossed!

What cycle are you on? 15? 16?
What are your plans for this cycle? IVF #1. Egg transfer tomorrow (3/28).
How is your attitude/outlook? Total roller coaster.
What have you struggled with most this week? Progesterone shots and deciding between transferring one or two embryos. We were set on two, but after doing more research on the health risks associated with twin pregnancies and realizing that a fresh cycle with a single transfer followed by a frozen cycle with a single transfer has the same chances of producing a pregnancy as transferring two in one cycle, we are now strongly leaning towards transferring one. It has been agonizing. I can't believe I am voluntarily going to reduce my chances of success, and as a result, am feeling pessimistic at the moment. But that changes on an hourly basis. Hating IF tonight.
Do you have any questions you want me to add or take off for next week?

Thank you everyone for the well wishes!
@raintreebee: Good luck with your egg retrieval tomorrow!

@Shutterbug: I am definitely going to be embracing the wine part of our vacay! And we'll hopefully be back fully rested and ready to jump into IVF.
@sweetooth: Wow, so exciting about your positive betas! Hope you've got a sticky bean there!
@Mrs. Polish: I didn't realize you were TTC either. I've really enjoyed reading about your adoption journey on the blog!
@raintreebee: Fingers crossed for you tomorrow! Let us know how it goes!
blogger / nectarine / 2010 posts
@twodoghouse: thank you! I didn't realize I hadn't been talking about it because my mind has been so consumed with our adoption. I'm working on some TTC posts now.

@raintreebee: based on your egg count and that you're doing a day 5 transfer, I'd say your chances are pretty good even with one! Good luck tomorrow, whatever you decide!

@LMOG47: Thank you, an omg, just saw your beta is tomorrow. I am sooo pulling for you!!! Also, I edited my post--its my transfer tomorrow, but I put in retrieval because IVF is making me lose my mind.
@twodoghouse: Thank you! Enjoy the wine!

@PastaAndPotato: Good luck with the stims! I found them to be much easier than anticipated. Hope you have the same experience.
@twodoghouse: I also have a nearly certain endo diagnosis (through an attached ovary on an ultrasound rather than a lap). Let me know if you have any questions. I won't have all of the answers but at least we can commiserate. Such a mysterious disease.
nectarine / 2765 posts
@raintreebee: Totally understand the losing your mind! I'll be thinking about you tomorrow. Between the general stress of ivf, being a bloated busted mess (least I am, ha), deciding how many to transfer, it's very stressful. If it's any help, the actual transfer procedure was no more difficult than a pap & over in just a couple mins. Good luck!

@raintreebee: Thanks! Our vacation isn't until June, but I might take up practicing for enjoying the wine until then. Hope your transfer goes well. Do you know how many eggs you have/how many you'll transfer?
I think I've seen some of your posts about endo and how your dr. doesn't recommend the lap? My RE also believes that lap surgery doesn't do anything to improve our fertility chances, just eases the pain/discomfort of endo. It doesn't seem to be totally mainstream (yet?) but I'm glad to hear of someone else who's doctor suggests the same thing!

@LMOG47: Sending you SO much positivity today!
@raintreebee: What an incredibly difficult decision to make. I'm sure it took a lot of your energy to research and think through all of the pros and cons. I hope that after the transfer today you are able to switch gears and start sending positive, happy thoughts down to your uterus where good, good things are GOING to happen. Hugs!
@Mrs. Polish: thank you! I also wasn't aware that you are TTC right now because I just put you in the "new mom" category I've really enjoyed your posts on HB.

@LMOG47: @raintreebee: Good luck today, both of you!! Can't wait to hear updates!

What cycle are you on? 2. I know, it's not long. But I consider myself IF since it took me almost 4 years to get pregnant w my twins.
What are your plans for this cycle? Just wing it since we are ntnp. I think we need to have a date night tonight! I think starting next month, I'll use opks for a month or two to see if I'm ovulating.
How is your attitude/outlook? Neutral. I can already tell nothing has changed. I was hoping pregnancy would clear up any blockages that I supposedly don't have but already discouraged after only 1 cycle. So I guess not that neutral lol. How about not optimistic?
What have you struggled with most this week? Nothing to do with IF. My daughter is so sick right now, poor baby.
Diagnosis: unexplained. I was complaining to my husband that they didn't do anything to really test what's wrong! Especially since I keep up with the infertility thread and what not and the things they do to figure out what's wrong with the ladies (hormone testing, etc.) he said its cuz I've gotten pregnant before.... So what? What if there is something inherently wrong? And I got lucky that one time? Which btw, was right after an hsg, so even though they say i had no blockages, maybe i did? I dunno. For now, I'm unexplained and I don't plan to see an RE again so I guess I'll never really know. My hubby's diagnosis came out normal...
Do you have any questions you want me to add or take off for next week? None noted...

@raintreebee: good luck with the transfer! So exciting! Hoping the 1 lil one pulls thru!! I know it was a tough call, but ultimately, u know what's best for u!

@LMOG47: good luck! Btw, which blood test? Beta? Really rooting for u!
@sweettooth: good luck! Hope ur #s have been doubling!!!

@raintreebee: How did your transfer go today? Were you able to make peace with the number you chose to transfer? Hope you're now resting peacefully at home being waited on hand & foot : )

Great idea! I'm in!
What cycle are you on? Dunno about cycles, but this is the 16th month!
What are your plans for this cycle? Had my first IUI on March 19, and I'm going in for a beta on April 2! Can't stop thinking about it!
How is your attitude/outlook? Since this is pretty much the beginning of our IF journey, I'm pretty hopeful. I'm hoping for a sticky BFP before July because we'll be moving and I don't want to have to start all over with a new RE...
What have you struggled with most this week? The waiting! The symptom reading! Is this fatigue or am I just being a wuss?
nectarine / 2765 posts
The Dr. called with my beta results. My hcg is 760 which he said is a good number (I'm honestly not yet familiar with beta #'s but will be googling the death out of it shortly). I have to go in this coming Wed. am for another beta & if all looks good, I'll have an ultrasound in 2 weeks. While I'm excited, I'm honestly still very cautiously optimistic. Until some milestones are hit, I just can't jump & down for joy, etc.
Thank you so much for all your positive thoughts & prayers! I really appreciate it. I can't wait to hear updates from you all!
@INEEBEE: Good luck with your upcoming beta! Only a few days away...even though it'll still feel like an eternity!

@LMOG47: ahh congrats!! Was this your first beta? That number seems super high!
grapefruit / 4703 posts
@tequiero21: yay glad to see you here (well, not b/c it's the IF thread, but that you're TTC!)
@ineebee: so exciting! Do you celebrate Easter? Maybe it'll keep your mind off the beta for the weekend. Good luck!
grapefruit / 4079 posts
@LMOG47: congrats! That's a really high number! How far in your cycle are you?
nectarine / 2705 posts
@LMOG47: That's a GREAT number! I can totally relate to not jumping up and down for joy yet - but right this moment, YOU are PREGNANT! Be sure to celebrate some this weekend
nectarine / 2705 posts
@tequiero21: Thank you Numbers have been doubling, but the bloodwork appointments never seem to end. Enjoy your date night An unexplained diagnosis can be really frustrating. I hope your journey to a BFP is much shorter this time around.
@ineebee: I'm hopeful for you too! And 4/2 will be there before you know it! Stay busy this weekend
pear / 1580 posts
@lmo47: Thank you! And congrats on the beta! Crossing my fingers for you to hit those milestones ASAP!
@shutterbug: Yes, I do celebrate Easter! And as a teacher, I'm also enjoying the heck out of my spring break! There are plenty of distractions until April 2 and the fact that DH is sharing in my impatience actually helps, too.
@Sweetooth: Thank you! And good luck to you on your next beta! Let's go HCG!
nectarine / 2765 posts
@sweetooth: @sweetooth Thank you! We have a full weekend, so, hopefully keeping busy will help calm me til the next beta Wednesday. Definitely some celebrating going on, though! Did I somehow miss you had a BFP?!
@shutterbug @twodoghouse @ineebee Thank you!
@ladybee It's the first beta, the transfer was 3/15. Spose that makes it day 15 or 18 (if you count from retrieval).
blogger / nectarine / 2010 posts
@LMOG47: woo hoo! I'll stay cautiously optimistic too.....nah I can't, I'm really excited for you!!!

@Mrs. Polish: Awww! You're too sweet. I checked out your blog earlier today (whilst I really should have been working...) and I'm quite certain we're kindred spirits. Heh. Your son is also beyond adorable!
