This thread is already moving so fast!

May was slated to be REALLY stressful. Thankfully, It looks like DH will deploy in June; I'm happy we have a little more time but still overwhelmed by everything I need to figure out.

In IF news, Still planning our iui for around 5/20! It's currently cd20; AF is due next Fri.

@alohaorchid: Saw your other post and I'm so sorry you're down. Hopefully getting everything finalized for your new house will be a welcome distraction! Hugs

@mrs bunchy: Hooray for your upcoming appt! I've heard S Carolina is lovely; though I can vouch that in So Cal and AZ, we have PERFECT weather right now

@PurplePumps: My RE previously said bc I ovulate on my own, things like clomid or injectables would work more to my benefit bc I'd likely produce a lot of follicles. The chance of multiples is higher but I want anything that helps our chance of the sperm getting an egg. Clomid is made specifically for that, while Letrozole is actually for breast cancer. Some women definitely respond to one but not necessarily the other! Good luck!

    @mrs. bird: Fingers still crossed!

    @Leialou: So exciting!!

@bluestriped bee: I'm so anxious to hear about your appt on Monday! Fx!

@FaithFertility: That's so awesome!!!! So happy for you!

@FliegepilzHut: Have you scoped out the yoga studio yet?? I have my first spin class tonight!

@MrsTal: Sounds like you and DH have a solid plan! Can't wait to hear about your appt next week! Annnnd ikea is THEE greatest!

@doxielove: Yay for paying off loans! It's such an uplifting feeling! Good luck next Friday; I hope it's pain-free!

@Warbler: Good luck in the job hunt! Do they have an idea how soon your procedure will be?

@LindsayInNY: Oh no! I hope you get those results ASAP! Did they give you a time frame of how long they would take to process? Praying you get to do your iui!

So with all of these Mother's day threads popping up, how is everyone feeling? Last year, I stayed off FB and tried not to think about it. I'm definitely going to stay off HB, FB and other social media this year, as well.

I posted this thread last year. http://boards.hellobee.com/topic/if-how-was-mothers-day-for-you#post-778386

I don't want to make it out to a IF pity party, so I don't want to create an IF thread in anticipation of Mother's day. But part of me thinks, we should be supported, too, but I'm afraid non-IFers might give me a side eye about it. Maybe we'll discretely get support in this thread. If anyone want to create a thread about it, feel free. This is just a personal battle I have with feeling like a negative and bitter IFer.

  7. MrsTal

    clementine / 901 posts

@Leialou: It is! That thread that bluestripedbee posted about how much you spent made me a little bit sick thinking about all the money we've put in to this.

@FaithFertility: That's my hope, that maybe we can get some answers through this!

@LindsayInNY: I really hope the geneticist gets back to you soon so you can go through your IUI.

@FliegepilzHut: That's kind of my saving grace. If the testing/treatment for the morphology doesn't work out, we always have ICSI, so it's really comforting to have a plan in place

@Happygal: Right now it looks like an empty room with a papasan chair frame in it, haha. My colors are mint green, rose pink, and grey. Eventually DH is going to hang the papasan chair like a swing, I'm going to have a dainty chandelier, mint greet book case, a little table for some tea next to the swing basically a nice girly space. Most of our house has a modern look and I love it, but I also have a soft spot for the rustic/romantic/softer look, so this space is perfect for that. I'm excited for your IUI! I hope this is it for you!

@Kelli_Deluxe: I'm glad your DH isn't deploying until June, hopefully the first IUI does the trick then. And yes, IKEA is amazing!

@bluestriped bee: I'm feeling sort of bitter this year. I'll admit, I saw the thread about what do you want for mother's day and all I could think was going in and saying for a day not to exist specifically to remind me I'm not pregnant or to get pregnant. Obviously I didn't do it, but it popped in my head and I felt super bad about it. I think a thread might not be a bad idea tho, I really don't care what non-IFers think tho because quite frankly until you've been through it, you have no idea how hard it is.

  8. BSB

hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts

@MrsTal: You should create a thread on it! I'll definitely comment on it.

Sometimes I feel like I post on the IF threads too much and non-IFers get annoyed. Sometimes I post for IF awareness, but mentally it can take a toll on me, like I'm trying to create too much attention. Like I'm self centered, which I try hard not to be. I hate having these feelings of guilt.

  9. MrsTal

    clementine / 901 posts

@bluestriped bee: Those feelings suck and I get it. Lately, most of the things I post on FB are IF related because that's what's happening in my life right now, but I think a lot of people get sick of it. I will start the thread right now!

  10. BSB

hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts

@MrsTal: Sorry about the cost thread. I was also shocked how much we spent.

  11. MrsTal

    clementine / 901 posts

@bluestriped bee: Don't appologize! I think it's really important that people know how much money goes into IF. I think I just shocked myself because I hadn't stopped to think about it as a lump sum. It's always been $80 here, $300 there, which in the moment seems like it's not a big deal but it adds up fast.

  12. BSB

hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts

@MrsTal: Yeah, it definitely adds up. When I added up my cost, I completely forgot about my acupuncture appts. That's $60-$80 a month and I've been going for almost 2 years.

@FaithFertility: It's genetic testing... I'm a carrier of something and if DH comes back as a carrier to, we have to reevaluate our options... We're taking things appointment by appointment in the meantime though and just waiting to see.

@Happygal: Not sure when we'll hear... He had two things done. One is already at the lab but it took me two weeks from when they received it to get the results. The other one has a shorter time limit. I just hope we get one of the two back next week... If DH is a carrier, the RE strongly suggested IVF with genetic testing of embryos before implanting (there's a fancier word for it). Basically, they would all be tested for this disease ahead of time to eliminate the odds of a LO having it. It's fatal. As for you - ahhhh, tomorrow!!!! Sending so much your way!!

@Kelli_Deluxe: I responded to your comment similarly above How long is DH deploying? Will he be gone long? You're so optimistic still - it's a hard spot to be in!

@bluestriped bee: Don't apologize!! Make all the IF threads you want!! If someone doesn't want to see/read it, then they don't have to comment! I love your posting.

@Kelli_Deluxe: Tomorrow. I need to call the yoga studio tomorrow. Are you doing yoga and spin? Glad that your husband's deployment has been postponed ...more time to plan!

@bluestriped bee: My acupuncture was $75-80 per visit...

@mrswin: SO EXCITING!!! Have a wonderful time...and drink lots of wine, eat delicious cheeses and charcuterie without having to worry about restrictions...yet.

@LindsayInNY: Hoping for good things with your husband's testing.

@LindsayInNY: So far the word is a 4mo deployment but he's been told not to be surprised if it's extended. I'm thinking 6mo. He's really excited that he was selected and the savings will be so great for our future, so I have to be positive! I'm mainly stressed about whether or not to give up our house (and all that comes with moving) or just stay here. We rate a larger house now plus moving would extra savings.

    @mrswin: What an awesome trip!!!

@FliegepilzHut: I'm doing barre & spin, though I will probably throw yoga in the mix too! I also think it's fun(ny) how many of us are cycle buddies! Though I like that we can all be crazy together

    @FaithFertility: so happy for you

@LindsayInNY: I'm sorry it's gotten complicated. I hope you get good results and quickly!

@Happygal: yay for IUI and having the trigger finished!

life updates for me - we closed on our house Tuesday! and then we bought a new car (we were a 1-car family in the city so need a second for Dallas). my birthday is this weekend and I can't complain about those for birthday gifts! and DH got me a pedicure too

IF updates - I guess I'm going to POAS on Monday. I don't have a lot of hope for this non-med cycle. I feel like many things were against us but stranger things have happened. I think if it's BFN it will be a relief to not even try next month (we will be apart my fertile week). I have an appt with the new RE for right after we move and all my paperwork in order from old RE so I think I'll be ready to jump right back in after the break.

@bluestriped bee: I'm sooo not looking forward to it either....it's hard because people just don't GET it. Last year, I just knew that I would be either pregnant or even have a baby by this mother's day, and obviously that won't be happening any time soon. I will be 2 weeks out from my laprascopy at that point. Our local youth livestock show is that weekend, which requires a whole lot of work and a lot of public mother's day displays. My mom is leaving that weekend to go stay with my brother. I honestly don't think that it even crossed her mind that the day would be painful for me.

Hey ladies, I hope you guys don't mind me joining. I've had 14 cycles in 1 year with no luck. I haven't been to the doctor or officially diagnosed yet, but I think this is the best place for me right now.

I finally bucked up and made an initial appt to speak to a new gyno for my yearly and to talk about fertility options. She came recommended by my friend who had difficulty conceiving so I feel good about it. I already like the office staff too, the receptionist is making sure to code my appointment correctly for insurance purposes so it doesn't get denied. I thought that was great that they cared enough to do that when I haven't even come in yet. Maybe that's common, but I thought it was a great way to start with a new doctor!

I started cycle 15 today but it finally hit me that we won't be successful without some sort of help. I was in denial for a long time but I'm ready to move on to the next step and I feel better just knowing I have an appointment.

Sorry for the novel, I haven't joined any May POAS threads and I don't plan on joining any until we have something figured out.

@alohaorchid: Having a brand new house sounds awesome! Happy searching!

@mrs bunchy: CA is always nice, So Cal has the really hot weather, nice beaches, and celebrity sightings while the Bay Area has so many different activities to partake in and varying weather conditions. I would also suggest Yosemite as a destination for great hiking!

@PurplePumps: My RE said that femara is used for the off label use of treating infertility because the company is already making more than enough money from its use for cancer. He said that to qualify femara as a infertility drug would mean the company would have to pay for all the studies to research the effectiveness of Femara. My RE liked Femara better because he saw better results and less chance of multiples, he quickly went to the highest dosage of clomid because femara did not do anything for me.

@mrs. bird: FX that your DH got the job!

@Leialou: Woohoo for starting the process for FET! Good luck at your appt tomorrow!

@bluestriped bee: good luck with monday's appt!

@FaithFertility: Woohoo for seeing the heartbeat!

@FliegepilzHut: your RE appt will come before you know it! That's a huge shift in climate! When there's a 15 degree change in weather, I always end up getting sick.

@MrsTal: I like your reading room! FX for you!

@doxielove: yay for getting rid of debt! I still keep my student loans because the interest rate is super low when I consolidated my loans after grad school.

@Warbler: Good luck with your job search! Were you able to get an appt or better response from your Kaiser RE? Have you thought about emailing them so there's a paper/electronic trail of your attempts to speak with them?

@LindsayInNY: Ugh! I hate when things go into limbo because of waiting for other people to get their act together! FX that your DH is not a carrier. I had genetic testing done in college due to me feeling fatigued and having weird cycles which showed that I was a carrier. When we met with RE, I told him that and he immediately had DH get labs done. Thankfully DH doesn't have that because if he was, we would probably have gone straight to IVF.

@Kelli_Deluxe: FX that you get the BFP so your 5/20 appt would be to verify a BFP. When do you plan to POAS?

@BhBee: yay for the month of May! Have a great birthday this weekend & cheers to all your big May steps!

@boopers: welcome and good luck with your first appt! Also, its all the little things that make a difference when choosing who you want to work with in TTC. Glad you found a great office that helps in whatever way they can.

@owlteach: yay for the feel good week! I hope things go well for for your appt or that you get your BFP!

I hope I got to everyone!

Also, below is the new updated list! Again, if anyone wants to add any updates, if you put ** next to the info, I can flag it to update the list. Otherwise, anyone else wishing to update the list is more than welcome to copying and pasting the info in.
