@mrswin: Ahh, I'm so jealous!! Have fun!!! (if we had a sunglasses face emoji, I would insert that here!)

    @boopers: ((hugs)) and welcome!!

@lazypanda: Thanks for sharing your story!! We planned on having DH tested at the same time as me and somehow that didn't happen so now we're waiting. I'm praying so hard that he isn't a carrier and that my eggs grow slowly so we have time to get the results and hopefully go forward with the IUI! You are one heck of a list maker!! I love it!

I ended the night on a really bitter note last night. We had a fun night, great dinner, made some house decisions, everything was good. Then I went on Facebook and a friend posted a pregnancy announcement, she has the cutest bump and her and her husband look great and so happy.

This is the first time I have ever felt bitter or jealous about a pregnancy announcement and it really took me off guard! We were TTC together last summer (when my dh was really into it) so it just felt weird to see that I guess.

I think it also bothered me a little bit because we have grown pretty close, but the past few months we haven't seen much of each other and the last time I talked to her in March she said she was still trying and commiserated with me about the whole situation. Obviously she was pregnant since she's 5 months along now. And I know and completely understand why she didn't want to tell me, so I know I have no reason to feel hurt.

I texted her this morning and congratulated her... I am really happy for her and I knew how bad she wanted it (they were TTC for a year), so I'm upset at myself for the way I reacted last night.

ETA: My temps are a disaster this cycle! I have no idea what's going on and it's not helping my mood at all.

@MrsTal: @Leialou: @doxielove: @lindsayinny: @kelli_deluxe: @lazypanda: Thanks ladies!! I’m sure I will bore all of you to no end with my house updates. I was bored in a meeting yesterday and started planning out where everything will go in the kitchen… and I still have 8 months to go!

@happygal: House things are coming along pretty good! We got the plans back from the developer and everything was approved. We’re on tight timelines now to get everything going so we have to have everything picked out by the end of this month… there’s about 100 things that we have to decide on, which is fun and a little stressful! This is my 4th time building (ugh!) but this time I really want to get things right because we don’t plan on moving from this house for a long time. The builder we are using seems great so far so I’m hoping for a smooth process!

@doxielove: That’s great news on your student loan!! 

@MrsTal: I think going to see an urologist is a really good idea, hopefully they can find a reason for the morphology and then work on correcting or at least making it better

@Leialou: that’s very exciting news about your FET, I will have everything crossed for you!

@Warbler: Good luck with the job hunt, I definitely understand how exhausting it can be on every level so I hope you find something soon!

@lindsayinny: Fingers crossed that your DH is not a carrier and you can go ahead with your IUI as planned

@happygal: I’m so excited for you for your IUI today! FX and lots of good luck being sent your way  It sounds like you have had a pretty good week. What kind of consulting do you do? I’m also a consultant..

@kelli_deluxe: I’m glad that May has turned out to be a little less stressful than you first thought, and that’s exciting news about your IUI!

@bluestriped bee: Mothers Day has never really bothered me, I’ve always thought of it more as being about my mom and MIL, Father’s Day however really gets to me. I’m not sure why it’s one and not the other!

@mrswin: May sounds like it’ll be an awesome month for you!! Enjoy France and Spain 

@bhbee: Congrats on the house and car! And the pedicure!

@lazypanda: Happy anniversary and birthday month! And fx that this is also your BFP month

@boopers: welcome! Sorry that you have to be here but you will soon find that everyone is awesome and welcoming and hopefully your stay won’t be too long.

@alohaorchid: I'm sorry. Those rough patches are so hard. I have no good magic fix-it advice except to let yourself feel those feelings, and they eventually go away. Have you temped before?

@LindsayInNY: interesting! I never thought about how they can test for those things before. Wow, thank you, science.

@BhBee: what dpo will you be on Monday? I've had cycles with no hope, but then still feel a little sad when my period shows up. I guess there's always just a little hope there, even I'm not aware of it.

@LazyPanda: happy anniversary month! What do you guys do to celebrate? Thanks again for being a great list keeper (it's kind of a pain, isn't it? )

@owlteach: choosing to be happy==big thumbs up! It's not always easy, but I do like that reminder that we can work towards that goal of being happy.

@boopers: welcome! Sounds like you're in a good practice, which makes all the difference in the world!

@mrswin: do you speak French or Spanish? I am feeling inspired by your trip and hope you'll share some pictures when you return.

    My positives:
--IUI went well! Count was 49 million and morphology was 14%.

    --this group. I love it.

    --I've always loved Fridays!

@Happygal: I have tried temping before and I never woke up at the same time, or I would forget days so it never really went well so I just stuck to OPK's. Now I'm on my second cycle temping and the first one went pretty well, and I got a clear pattern, but this cycle is weird! I had a huge spike yesterday (CD7) and today I'm down a little bit from yesterday but not where I should be compared to last cycle. Both days I haven't slept well but even taking that into consideration, my temps are higher than I feel they should be. It's all so confusing and stressful.

But on a good note, I'm glad to hear that your IUI went well and I have everything crossed for you that it was succesful!

@Happygal: yay on the iui! I've never seen morph above 5% for us so I'm super impressed!

I think 12dpo on Monday, maybe 11, which is my usual test day. I'm not kidding myself that I won't be crushed by bfn for a bit. But usually in a cycle like this I can rebound quickly and be happy when AF arrives (I have a long LP so it can be a long wait).

I got two good pieces of news last night! First, I got a nibble from two jobs that I applied to! I have a phone interview scheduled with one this morning, so fingers crossed! Second, the IF nurse scheduled an HSG for next Thursday. Looks like my OB is out of town, so I will have to wait on the hysteroscopy.

@doxielove: paying off a loan is such a great feeling! congrats! i think we may end up CORBAing (i'm making that a word ) if he doesn't have a job by then, i really want the surgery over with.

@MrsTal: thanks! finding the underlaying cause for things as always a good thing, hoping you find some answers and are able to work on a solution, maybe even get to skip IVF! ikea is always exciting! i wish i lived closer to one, maybe it's best i don't though i love little chandeliers, do you have a picture?

@Warbler: hope you find a new position that better suits you soon! good luck with your phone interview today!

@FliegepilzHut: wow, that's a long way to have to travel for care!

@Happygal: so glad you're feeling a little better! mr. bird doesn't get too nervous about interviews, but i know which job he's hoping for & they haven't asked him to come in for an interview yet, but he just sent his resume over there yesterday. i think he's a little nervous about that one just 'cause he really wants it. camping sounds like a fun way to celebrate! hope your IUI went well this morning!

@Kelli_Deluxe: i can't imagine what it must be like to have a spouse deploy, such a sacrifice your family makes!

@bluestriped bee: does your ins cover some of the acupuncture?? that sounds like a great deal! i was spending more than that weekly while i was going

@mrswin: ooooo, what a wonderful trip! where will you be visiting? i thought i would adore france and wasn't really interested in spain, turns out- i loooooooved barcelona & madrid & paris was just meh for me will this be your first time there? how long are you going for?

@bhbee: wow! lots of excitement! what kind of car did you get? hope you have a wonderful birthday!

@lazypanda: thank you for keeping up the list, that looks like a lot of work!!

@owlteach: thank you! have you had surgery before? did they tell you how long after you'd have to wait before trying again? i'm getting very anxious about my surgery, i've never had general anesthesia before

@Boopers: aww, thank you!! glad you're here sounds like you're ready for some next steps now. there's no right or wrong time, i certainly waited much longer than many people around here before looking into some interventions. wishing a short stay in this neck of the woods & a great appt with your wonderful new dr! that's great that she could see you so soon!

@alohaorchid: wow! fourth time building! you're a pro at this point i'm sorry about your friend and the confusing feelings i prefer finding out via text or fb so if i need to have an unbecoming moment in private, i can. it doesn't mean you aren't happy for her, i'm sure you genuinely are, it just stings. try not to beat yourself up over feeling that way you did, i'm sure if rolls were reversed, you would be understanding of it stinging for her if you were the one KU and she wasn't. we're always harder on ourselves than we would ever be to anyone else

But you are right about IKEA, ours is about 1hr 45 minutes away which is just long enough that I don't like to go there regularly, which probably saves me money in the long run.

@mrs. bird: lol I actually wish I wasn't a pro at this! The first two times were just small places that couldn't have been long term, then the third time was just a huge disaster from start to finish (with an ex), so I'm really hoping that this time around is the final time! I agree that finding out through fb was the best because I was at home and didn't have to hide any weird feelings. I've been talking to her all morning and I feel so much better and I've gone from bitter and jealous to happy.

@mrs. bird: Yeah, I have great insurance so I don't really complain about my coverage. The IF coverage is just something that a lot of people don't have and I think it's just because my state doesn't have any mandates. So really I'm mad at the lack of IF coverage for everyone and not really at my insurance. (If that makes sense.) I think my company would cover IF, if it was required.

Ahhhh I step away from the thread for a day and I have 2 pages to catch up on. I know I've missed responses to some people...but here's my best attempt:

@FliegepilzHut: Ah, ok, thanks for catching me up! I hope the appointment goes well!

@Kelli_Deluxe: I'm really hopeful that your pre-deployment IUI works! Are you going to go through w/ the freezing, too?

@MrsTal: Your reading room décor plan sounds lovely!

@LindsayInNY: Hugs as always, dear. I hope you get the test results soon xoxo

    @bhbee: Congrats on closing!

@owlteach: I may have some lap questions for you soon! Here's my first one - does your doctor perform them only during certain times during your cycle? I'm guessing it has to be done after AF is done?

@Boopers: Hello, and welcome! So sorry to see you here. So glad you made a fertility appointment!

@alohaorchid: I'm sorry about the pregnancy announcement. I remember when SIL announced she was pregnant...that was last year around this time. It was the first time a pregnancy announcement made me bitter. I had only been TTC for 6 months or so, but it was so hard to stomach! I had to excuse myself so that I wouldn't start crying (we were in a room full of people so my departure wasn't noticeable). Hugs!

As for me, I'm spotting, so AF will be here tomorrow! Thank goodness, because I'll just be able to squeeze in my HSG at CD7. I hope and pray I am still not bleeding on that day otherwise it may have to be rescheduled. (I'd say 50% of the time I bleed for more than a week).

  22. mrs. bird

    bananas / 9628 posts

@bluestriped bee: sorry, that's what i was referring to, the lack of IF coverage. that must be so frustrating! i think it's ridiculous that because of my geographic location within the states, i have coverage, yet you don't. i wonder how much our ins premiums differ depending on whether it's included or not

  23. mrs. bird

    bananas / 9628 posts

@doxielove: the doctor had a difficult time doing mine, my cervix wasn't cooperating and my uterus is freakishly small & has a thick septum in the center that was making it difficult, she had to take the thing out and switch to a smaller catheter, before she tried to do that one she put clamps on my cervix to hold it open needless to say, mine was hell, but lucky for you, it sounds like i'm the exception not the norm, so try not to be nervous that you'll have a similar experience, i'm sure yours will go much more smoothly! (LOTS of motrin ahead of time, just in case though )

  24. doxielove

    persimmon / 1388 posts

@mrs. bird: I mentioned my longer AF's after the nurse said they like to do them between CD 7-9. She said spotting is fine, but bleeding can compromise the results? She didn't elaborate. And, clamps!? What kind of clamps?

@Happygal: Congrats on those IUI numbers! Hope this is the one!!!

@Warbler: Good luck with your job interview! And it'll be nice to have one more test out of the way so soon!

@mrs. bird: General anesthesia, huh? Rats... I guess I hadn't realized how much bigger (longer?) a surgery this would be than, say, a D+C or hysteroscopy (which they can do with conscious sedation, I believe...I know for sure with the D+C). You might talk with the anesthesiologist and/or your Gyn to see if there are any other options. Re: driving-- the absolute closest place is about 2.5 hours away....after that it's 3, 3.5, then 5+ hours one way. I currently have two appointments made, but am really leaning toward the bigger center, which happens to be the longest drive...

@lazypanda: Thanks for the amazing list updates!

@bluestriped bee: Hooray for your insurance covering acupuncture. BTW-- my state has a mandate...but exempts HMO's, which makes it absolutely USELESS! (Can I get a wtf?!??)

  26. FliegepilzHut

    pomegranate / 3533 posts

@doxielove: I think 99% of U's make it through our HSGs without the need for clamps... At least I hope so!

@alohaorchid: So sorry you're in a rough place... Re: temping, b/c my temps can be erratic too, due to bizarre sleep schedules and sleeping in...I've started strategically temping ONLY to confirm a temp increase post-ovulation (>.4 above baseline for a few days in a row) and at the end of my cycle. (If my temps drop the day of/day before AF, it helps "let me down easy"...). But this was just my way of trying not to drive myself crazy...

@Boopers: Welcome! Happy you've found a great doctor's office! That's so important to making this a little easier!

@lazypanda: I'm going to POAS on Wednesday, which is 14dpo. Part of me wants to test Monday but I'm a wuss!

@alohaorchid: I'm sorry you had a rough end to an otherwise good day. FB and Instagram can definitely be a kick to the gut in this process, esp when it's a friend. Hugs

@Warbler: Good luck with your nibbles! Fx!

@doxielove: Thank you! I'm feeling really optimistic for it already!! And, yes, we are freezing sperm! I have two more places to call to compare prices and process, but DH thinks it's well worth the money. When I had my HSG, my RE and the imaging center both said it needed to be done day 7-10, so hopefully rescheduling it will only need to be a couple days and they can budge to day 10?!

@Happygal: So happy about your numbers!!! Hope this TWW is a speedy one!

@mrs. bird: I have had surgery before, I actually had two dermoid cysts removed from my ovaries previously. It was an abdominal surgery too, obviously, however, it was not lapascop. I had to spend a night in the hospital and I'm pretty sure I was under for quite a long time. I'm REALLY hoping this surgery will be completed without having to open me up. I do have quite a few ?s for my dr and pre-op appointment. I'm definitely not that worried about the anesthesia this time, but more about the outcome of the surgery. That last surgery was just 4 years ago, and I remember my mom being really worried abut what the impact would be on my fertility, and I couldn't have cared less. I figured we would just adopt if there was an issue....oh, how perspectives change!

Last year we went to a wedding (on our anniversary) and helped the bride and groom because they were family; this year, the time we would go to celebrate, we're at a close friend's wedding where we are also helping out, and it happens to be my birthday as well!
