Ahh! I'm so busy at work, but I had to quickly check in to see how everyone is doing! Happy to see such great news all around!
@bhbee: @happygal: I totally get caught up in everyone's updates cuz it takes a little focus off from my own obsession with my TWW.
@bhbee: @doxielove: @warbler: woohoo for your updates!!!

@Warbler: @doxielove: So glad both of your HSGs went well!!
@happygal: Such awesome news!!!

@bhbee: HOORAY!!!!!!!! (you got uppercase letters out of me, i hate uppercase letters, but that's how excited i am for you ) that is WONDERFUL news!!! oh i couldn't be happier for you! yay!
@doxielove: that's great! hope it wasn't too uncomfortable for you.
@Warbler: hope you're feeling better today! my HSG was hell, i can't imagine how bad it would have been had i not loaded up on motrin ahead of time. you must be a tough cookie! glad it over with!
so i realized i added my update yesterday to last wk's thread forgetting it was thursday, whoops! so i'm just gonna paste it here:
"just opened the mail and i am SOOOOOOOO glad we COBRAed! they did cancel our ins retroactively, we would have owed for everything from the 10th of april on even though i kept checking with the ins & it was current. i think my ultrasound alone was $1,300! phew! paying cobra sucks, but we would have had to pay for all those bills anyway.
surgery date has been confirmed! **pre-op check in appt wednesday 5/14** to go over the surgery & my instructions for before & after. as foolish as it sounds, the IV is the part i'm most anxious about, i'm going to see what i can take prior to arriving or upon arrival but prior to the IV being placed. i'd rather have no recollection of the entire day. and on a happy note: i'm meeting with someone at school tomorrow so hopefully i can register for my classes "

@MrsTal: That's wonderful!!! I'm glad that writing the essay was even a little therapeutic for you! FX for good news!
@bhbee: It's (he/she is?) growing!!! Wishing you the very best!
@Warbler: @doxielove: Congrats on getting that out of the way! Wish you both extra in the next few cycles!
@mrs. bird: I want to congratulate you again!!! That is truly worth celebrating!
@lazypanda: Just keep swimming...
@Happygal; Have a great (uneventful) camping trip with the pup!
Have a glorious weekend, everyone! I got my 10 pages of paperwork faxed off this morning. And now am just reveling in the fact that I don't have anything else I need to do today...except dishes...and laundry.

@MrsTal: I so know how you feel with losing it at work!! I have really good days.. And then really bad days. I hate when people ask me when I'm having kids. I should just tell everyone my story and maybe they wouldn't ask anymore ??!!

@Happygal: I so love you bought a family tent for you guys and your dog !! We take our yorkie with us to Michigan and she rides in the backseat like she's our child. This made me smile.

Nothing too big going on over here.. DH and I booked a vacation to Florida next month for his 30th! So excited to get my toes in the sand and get some color to this pasty body!!
Cautiously optimistic about the RE apt this month. I had a lot of REs in the area to choose from, and actually went with a smaller practice. The larger ones didn't give me a good vibe when calling to ask them questions about cost since we are all out of pocket. I need to bust out all of our labs to bring with.
Weather is just so beautiful today and have had all the windows in the house open and gave myself a pedi ah the small things!!
1 not so fun thing for today.. Ellen has all pregnant women on the show for mothers day and is giving away baby items. Should someone write in and have her host an infertility show with us in the audience ?!! Come on ellen !!
kiwi / 533 posts
@doxielove: wahoo!! I am an xray tech and would be apart of those studies in clinical. My heart used to hurt for those women going through that for infertility reasons..

@mrs. bird: popping in (from Mexico!) to let you know my experience with the IVs at BIVF (do they do the surgery there or a hospital?) I asked the anesthesiologist if he could do it in the OR instead of in pre-op so that I could be laying down, and he said that was totally fine. Plus, they have me a numbing shot beforehand, so I didn't feel it at all. Good luck with your surgery!
bananas / 9628 posts
@Shutterbug: I hope you are having an amazing time! You certainly deserve it thank you for mentioning the numbing shot! I asked my mom & she was like, 'I highly doubt they'll give you one, we never give them, but I can offer to put it in if you want' uuuummmmm, no thanks mom, I'd rather hate the IV nurse I'm going to talk to the dr about it wed & see what I can take orally or as an injection prior to the IV. When are you back from for trip?
@lazypanda: I love your positives! You have such a beautiful attitude! I have a lot of positives right now! One big one: mr. Bird was offered one job & another is holding a position for him pending his background check. One should never count their eggs before they hatch, but I feel like every reason to believe mr. Bird will be working again in the very near future!

@Mrs. Pinata: Italy sounds incredible, sorry about your hand though! Hooray for giving some IUIs a try, that's exciting!
bananas / 9628 posts
@Happygal: I just saw your comment about your new tent! Last year we bought a new tent because poor mr. Bird's head & feet touched at either end when he tried to lay in our old tent we also bought a family tent! It's HUGE even for a family tent, it has two rooms plus a screen porch that can have walls put up to make it a third room. We figured it was stupid to upgrade our tent each year for the next few years and it was better just to make the jump while there was a crazy deal at costco. Maybe next summer we'll both have reasons to use our family sized tents for our expanded families hope your trip is a wonderful one!

@mrs bunchy: That's a great idea! Who wouldn't love to see Ellen??? Enjoy Florida! Where will you be?
@Shutterbug: Hope you're having a wonderful vacation!
@lazypanda: I've forgotten-- do you and DH have big plans for your anniversary? And are you inclined to test early?
@mrs. bird: They may be willing to give you a dose of a sedative in pre-op...and maybe they could place your IV after it takes effect? If not, hopefully the local will work well for you! Do you know if you have "difficult" veins?
bananas / 9628 posts
@FliegepilzHut: oh i'm very sure they'll give me drugs ahead of time haha. my veins collapse easily & are small, if i stay well hydrated they're easier to find because i'm super pale, but i'm not sure when they'll make me cut liquids. i have to say, the ppl at this location are AMAZING, one of them managed to fill ALL of these tubes with one stick last time! granted i was pounding water bottles leading up to it & we did heat packs for a while first, but still, that is very impressive, i'm sure the IV nurse is equally skilled (i'm not sure who places IVs there, some places have IV nurses, some the pre op nurses do it, not sure, but let's hope they're just as skilled!)
pomegranate / 3533 posts
@mrs. bird: I bet you're right-- pre-op should have the creme de la creme, no matter their exact designation. You might let your doctor know that you're concerned and how tricky your veins are...depending on what time your surgery is, they may be able to let you hydrate a bit on the day of your surgery. Will be thinking of you...and hoping for a good IV experience and a rapid recovery! Edited: Eegads, that's a lot of tubes!!!!

@bhbee: you can thank @happygal: & @FliegepilzHut: as well for the updated list.
@mrs. bird: woohoo for Mr. Bird's job opportunities! That is a great positive! Like you, my veins are small so I always have to ask for the butterfly needles because the regular ones break my veins and I used to get poked in several places before the phlebotomist would heed my request for the "child sized needle." Once I started asking for the butterfly needle, they would just naturally grab that one. Same for the sphygmomanometer blood pressure cuff..
@FliegepilzHut: unfortunately for us, not this year, DH & I usually go to Yosemite every year for our anniversary (our dating & wedding anniversary) as well as for my birthday. This year we have 2 weddings (one on my birthday too!) so our weekends are booked. DH's aunt was super sweet though. We went to dinner for an early Mother's Day celebration & birthday celebration for DH's relatives from Canada. When the cake was brought out, DH's aunt brought out a mini cake for DH & I to share for our anniversary! as for testing, I had thought to be more "relaxed" about this TWW, but I couldn't help it, I received my amazon order (for the IF sock swap exchange that I'll be mailing out soon) & ordered more wondfo HCG tests so I've been testing out my trigger for about 6 days now.
My 3 positives:
1. I have fabulous, caring & thoughtful in-laws.
2. I get to see a college friend I haven't seen in 11 years get married!
3. I received a very sweet & kind wall post from a fellow bee that's helping me get through the TWW.

I apologize, I seem to never have time to catch up on the responses. I need to find time. I apologize to everyone.
I can give you my update.
So my sHG is clear and thought I was waiting for AF then IUI.
Well, my REs want to confirm something with the DH's sperm. They want to do a leukocyte test to make sure everything is okay. They did find one round cell in the sperm analysis 2 weeks ago but one of the drs decided that since it was one cell, we would be fine.
So they told me to stay on BCP until DH could come in and drop off a sample. He is dropping it off Monday and it will take a week to get the results.
I love my new clinic and all but I wish they would make up their mind. I understand that I'm planning on doing the IUI 'peace of mind' plan where I have to be approved for the plan by having all these requirements, but it seems like what they decide is not usually what happens. If they would have just had the leukocyte test done two weeks ago, I wouldn't be delaying my cycle right now. Kinda annoyed.
Anyway, I had my SHG on Monday and the nurse told me to take BCP til Tuesday then wait for AF. On Thursday, I find out that they want to do the leukocyte test and told me to go back on BCP. Thursday night I start my period. Now what? Do I continue taking BCp or wait til AF is over then start BCP. I called my medical assistant Friday AM and haven't heard back from them yet.
So that's that. IUI is currently delayed. Not by long but still waiting. I want to start my IUI! I'm impatient!

@mrs bunchy: I actually do now! When we went through our IUIs we didn't but DH got a new job and now we do. So thankful!!

@lazypanda: What an amazing aunt you have! Hope you continue to have a very auspicious b-day/anniversay month... Definitely pulling for your !!! I never actually bothered testing out a trigger. Once negative, will you wait for another couple of days before testing again? Or how does that usually work?
@Sunshine1810: Insurance for IVF?!?! That's great...I'd just thought up until now that it was a mythical being...like the Tooth Fairy! Very very happy for you and excited!
@mrs bunchy: Sounds wonderful! I hope you have a fun and relaxing trip!
@bluestriped bee: That sounds terribly frustrating. I absolutely hate waiting...and I really hate sub-par communication. I hope they get back with you promptly on Monday and you get to move ahead with your IUI very soon!
@bhbee: @Kelli_Deluxe: @FaithFertility: @Catchafallingstar: Thinking of you all today...
BTW, re: the IF sock swap-- mea culpa to my sock swap buddy, b/c II put off shopping a bit...and b/c I'm going to be out of town part of next week...I am shipping my gift directly. I had really hoped to get into the festive IF/TTC spirit (with ribbons and fancy paper or similar) but.alas... Anyway, I'm sorry and will endeavor to do better next time.

Got my IF sock swap box all wrapped up and will be shipping Tuesday I put my user name as my return address name; mainly because I'm dumb and forgot to put anything with my name inside the box!!
