thanks how are you?????

@FaithFertility: Not fun, but necessary I guess... Hope to have more updates soon!

@FliegepilzHut: haha thank you! I also thought it didn't exist but apparently it does for some employers! I am so very thankful. I don't think we would be doing IVF otherwise. We had pretty much made the decision to go straight to adoption before DH got his new job.

Hi everyone! Camping was great. My husband scoffed at our 8 man tent b/c he fancies himself a true outdoors man, but at the end of the weekend, he had to admit it was great. Our dog was really good, and she got to play at the ocean for the first time ever. Great distraction from the TWW!
Mother's Day wasn't sad for me either. How did everybody else do?
pear / 1556 posts
@Happygal: Glad you had such a good weekend! Sounds like camping was a lot of fun!
Mother's Day wasn't too bad for me either. I was really distracted this year between IVF and getting ready for our new puppy that it helped a lot! I also got to spend a really great day with my mom yesterday which was awesome!

@Happygal: We are! I am so excited. We have a 3 year old American Standard Golden Retriever (he's blonde in color), named Beckett. This dog is a European Golden so she will be almost pure white. Not sure if there are any Downton Abbey fans here but we are naming her Isis after Lord Grantham's dog . She was born on 04/28/14. We will go up to pick her out on 05/31/14 and should be picking her up the last weekend in June.
This is my first female dog since I was about 5, so I am having fun with all the girly stuff to get her!
pomegranate / 3533 posts
@Happygal: That sounds absolutely wonderful. Best possible distraction! I'm starting a new cycle today...but I still have FX for you!
@Sunshine1810: Oh my goodness...SO ADORABLE! I'm not entirely sure which I like better, babies or puppies, but DH says I have to choose (and we have 2 dogs already)! Golden's are so unbelievably sweet... Is your current dog's coat pretty high-maintenance? BTW-- love the name?
I spent Mother's Day at a big family gathering (celebrating a graduation). Mostly I was fine...but I had a couple of twinges... My mom unthinkingly said something about seeing someone a few years ago "and they have two kids now!" And I loved watching my sister cuddling with one of her sons, but got a little choked up because of it...

@bluestriped bee: I hope you heard back from the medical assistant regarding the change in plan!
@FliegepilzHut: I've been POAS-ing daily. My trigger is out of my system now I'm just waiting for AF to arrive or the second line to show up. I'm trying to be positive but I think I'll have to look forward to what our next month's plan will be since RE does not like me to be on clomid for too long.
@Sunshine1810: yay for IF coverage & getting your new puppy!
@Happygal: woohoo for a lovely anniversary trip weekend & being distracted during the TWW!
pomelo / 5000 posts
@Sunshine1810: goldie puppies are so cute. Are you getting pictures along the way? Summer is a great time for a new puppy!
Along the IF way, my husband and I have had a few conversations of what life would be like if we don't have children. I said that I would have to get at least one more German Shepherd. I would like to move out to have a lot of space and fully embrace my crazy dog lady status.
@FliegepilzHut: oh, I'm sorry. How are you feeling about it all? Sometimes CD 1 is a good day for me--it feels like a fresh start. Other times I just feel worn out.
@lazypanda: when did the trigger leave your system? Any thoughts about whether this is a BFP or a BFN cycle?
pomegranate / 3533 posts
@lazypanda: My temps dropped really low today, so I know that I'm done. If this isn't your month, I hope you have a good meeting with your RE and get your soon!
@Happygal: Ideally, I would like both (to have kids and be the crazy dog lady)! But DH won't allow it...and I'm not sure I could deal with the additional hair, dander, noise, and more complicated "pack dynamic" that comes with 3+ dogs... I'm doing okay...just waiting (b/c I have the early notification system, due to temping). I need to buck up and get excited about my appt on 5/15! to you!

Help. I need an intervention right away. I just got the urge to POAS, but hadn't planned on doing so until this weekend. But once the idea gets in my head, it can be hard to ignore.
pear / 1556 posts
@FliegepilzHut: I know, dogs are the best! My current dog's coat is fairly high maintenance. He needs to be brushed a lot, and we have a pretty strict grooming schedule, but it works out. We cut him a little shorter in the summer to make it easier. Plus he likes to swim, so it is much easier to dry him off.
@Happygal: I should get pictures along the way. I'll share if you all want to see them! Resist the POAS urge! Go for a walk, get your mind off it. Read, watch a movie, do some work...anything! I used to get that way too, but testing early can lead to disappointment when you may in fact still get a BFP! Hang in there!
pomelo / 5000 posts
@Sunshine1810: the urge has passed. In this case, I'm more concerned about getting a flase BFP b/c of the trigger shot. You're right--staying busy is key. The idea hit me when I was just hanging out on the couch, and now I'm getting ready to do work. Thanks!
kiwi / 636 posts
@Happygal: @FliegepilzHut: I'm not sure if it's a BFP or BFN cycle. Which is really weird for me, previously, I always had hope that "this is my cycle" every time since February 2013 (I figured it might take some time so did not have too much faith in Dec 2012 or January 2013). the trigger looks like it left my system at CD22. No faint line on the HCG tests since then & today is CD27. Last cycle was only 27 days. However, my daily OPKs are still registering color when I noticed that previous OPKs have been stark white. Of course this is coming from someone where OPKs are a waste of money for me per RE. As for symptom spotting craziness: I've been feeling nauseous, bloated, & actually ate 4 whole dill pickles daily beginning last week. I am actually craving pickles right now or something like it. Such a long winded response to say that I'm confused.
I'm hoping all three us have some luck, either with a BFP or knowledge of what the next step will be!
@happygal: what are your thoughts about this cycle? I've got my FX for you. If you choose to test, be sure to update! If not, stay busy and Saturday will be here before you know it!
pomelo / 5000 posts
@lazypanda: craving pickles?! It doesn't get more classic than that!
I don't know what to think. I think I've gotten so used to not being pregnant that it's hard for me to imagine things going differently. I also don't want to get my hopes up. This is always the hardest part of the TWW for me--the testing date seems soooooo far away.

Ok ladies! I need your thoughts and prayers and all your fingers crossed. Yesterday, I was mopey and sad so I took used my last wondfo and there was a faint line! I wasn't sure if my trigger was out so I did a blood test at my RE this morning and HCG is 79!!!
My last pregnancy was ectopic so I am at risk for another one so please keep your fingers crossed and says lots of prayers for us!

@EmilyE: yeah! Lots of prayers for you.
I love that January is filled with IF bees! You'll be joining a good group.

@EmilyE: yay! So o'ing on the "wrong" side still got you a BFP!!! Woohoo!!! Keeping my FX & sending lots of positive thoughts your way!!!
@Sunshine1810: I hope your appts went well today & g'luck on Wednesday!
@Happygal: that's why I'm so conflicted about whether or not this is a BFP or BFN cycle. DH made me buy 2 jars of pickles this weekend because I finished off a jar in less than a week! Wednesday cannot come sooner for me. I'm hoping I see something! I'd prefer a BFP over AF of course.
pear / 1556 posts
@lazypanda: Thank you! They went pretty well. Things look good. RE was kind of pushing DH and I to think about transferring 1 embryo instead of only thinking of transferring 2. We actually hadn't talked to her about transferring 1, but she is encouraging us to leave our options open in case we have a very high quality embryo. That just makes me nervous, because I want the best possible chance of this cycle working. We will see what happens! I am trying not to stress out too much about it, but it's hard!!!!

@EmilyE: Thinking of you!! Will you have another beta/an early ultrasound for monitoring?
@Sunshine1810: A puppy!!! *insert cartoony heart-shaped eyes here!* Sounds like an adorable, great addition. I can attest that puppies provide a great distraction as well
@Happygal: Glad camping was a success! It sounds like it was a great time had by all!
@lazypanda: @Happygal: I'm looking forward to the POAS that will be taking place this week!
@FliegepilzHut: I'm sorry about your temps And I'm happy that you're happy about your appt Thurs. I'll be thinking of you
Three positives from my weekend:
-The Blackhawks won yesterday! I'm a big hockey fan (DH is a sometimes fan) and playoffs are my favorite time!
-We put in our transfer to larger housing! I can't wait to be in the 3bdrm unit; the layout is so much better
-I got a Swiffer vac! (You know you're old when....) Seriously, ladies you don't know how excited I am to use this thing. Between dog hair, sand and assorted crumbs, this purchase has been long overdue

@happygal - thank you! I am so excited and incredibly nervous!
@lazypanda - hoping you join us soon! Are you waiting AF out or will you test?
@sunshine1810 - I wouldn't feel good about transferring just 1 either, our RE suggested it too if we got to IVF, but my gut told me 2.
@kellideluxe - Yes! I have another beta on Wednesday and an ultrasound next week!! I am so scared right now!
Three positives for my weekend:
1. I got to use my new hammock, it was glorious
2. Hopefully, our last snow of the year
3. my first stitchfix shipped!

@Kelli_Deluxe: I so hope I get to join you. I just realized that you, @catchafallingstar: & @EmilyE were all on the IUI thread, so hopefully having joined the IUI thread was lucky? How are your symptoms now?
@EmilyE: I've tested out my trigger and have been POAS-ing daily. No second line has shown up recently.

@EmilyE: That's wonderful news! Hope he/she has found a nice, safe place to spend the next 9 months...

@Kelli_Deluxe: Thank you! A bigger apt. sounds wonderful! How are you feeling?
@Happygal: Way to fight the urge earlier today... I hope all the good luck that's been circulating on this board rubs off on us both soon...you first, though!
@Sunshine1810: That's a really tough call. Are you more excited or anxious about the possibility of multiples? Wish you lots of luck and a soon!

@Kelli_Deluxe: Haha I love how excited you are about your Swiffer Vac. I was equally excited when I purchased mine.
@EmilyE: Yeah my gut is telling me 2 as well. I told DH last night that he is going to have to be the strong one with this because I am more likely to let the doctor to push me into something.
@lazypanda: Thank you! I am nervous about injections class, but glad I am getting some instruction. Just looking at all my meds is intimidating!
@FliegepilzHut: I am more excited about the possibility of multiples, definitely. I am very aware of the possible complications, but if we had twins we would definitely be excited.
pomegranate / 3533 posts
@Sunshine1810: I hate the idea of making (especially really important) decisions out of fear...but I'm somewhat terrified of the idea of triplets! (I guess there's a 1-2% chance of identical twins (so transferring 2 and having 3) with IVF, much higher than the average population, and it may be more common with Day#3 transfers...?) It's definitely a complicated decision. Best of luck to you, whatever you decide!
pear / 1556 posts
@FliegepilzHut: I will admit that I am scared about triplets. I don't know it is such a hard decision. It's just been so many years for us, and at this point I want something to work so badly.
pomegranate / 3533 posts
@Sunshine1810: I understand completely...and will probably be facing down a similar set of decisions soon! You have to keep believing: you will, in all likelihood, get pregnant!!! For me, I've decided that if I move to IVF (dr.'s appt in 2 days!), unless I just absolutely can't, I'm going to go in with the plan of doing up to 2-3 cycles, b/c you just can't know which 50% or so you're going to be (and those are really good odds!)... And as far as # to transfer...I have no idea. I'm also not opposed to twins, but don't know how we could handle a pregnancy with, let alone the raising of, triplets... If I like and trust her, I will probably lean pretty heavily on the dr.'s opinion. Sorry for the rant...it makes my head spin, too! I really do wish you the absolute best of luck (and a baby or babies, of course)!!!
pear / 1556 posts
@FliegepilzHut: I completely agree. I have it in my head that we will do up to 3 cycles. We could technically do more, but I need to see how I am doing physically and emotionally. I think this makes everyone's head spin! Good luck with your doctor's appointment! Let us know how it goes!

@snowdrop: good luck at your consult appt today!
@mrs. bird: I hope you are getting well rested for your surgery this week.
@Sunshine1810: I'm like you & totally looking forward to potential for twins. I wasn't so thrilled about the prospect last year, but seeing as it is taking quite some time TTC#1, I am fine with getting twins, not so sure about triplets though. Wishing you lots of luck for tomorrow's transfer!
@boopers: I hope your new OB appt goes well tomorrow!
@FliegepilzHut: has AF arrived for you yet? I hope it stays away briefly so that you can jump into action immediately after your RE consult appt (or again, better if you don't even need the RE cuz of a BFP).
As for me, I'm still symptom spotting like crazy (already on my last jar of pickles yesterday, boobs are sore & sensitive) but HCG tests are still stark white. Sorry for my complaining, I'm feeling like a newbie TTC-er again trying to balance between being optimistic & realistic.

I'm so behind on this thread this week. Sorry guys!! I'll do better on Thursday.
Last Friday's appointment went well. My levels looked good so I started my Vivelle patches. I absolutely loathe them. My skin is super sensitive to the adhesive so when I take them off I get a rash. My stomach looks ridiculous. I've got bruises from my shots, patches, and a rash. I'm going back this Friday for another blood draw.

Hi everyone, I've been a bit quiet lately on HB, trying not to think too much about TTC until I think we have a real chance again.
@EmilyE: How are things going?
@Sunshine1810: what a hard decision, I have to say, I would be really tempted by 2....
As for me, we just got back from our appointment and I am going to start on mucodyne to help with cm and hcg injections 3,5,7&9 dpo. The doctor believes that supporting my luteal phase will then have a knock on effect on subsequent cycles, helping my body to achieve stronger ovulation naturally. If my hormones do not reach the right levels after 3 cycles we will look into ovulation drugs but I will need a HSG first.
I do agree with what she says but my baby fevered brain would really have liked to try ovulation drugs now!
I also start cyclogest tonight as it was too late for hcg this cycle.

@lazypanda: Triplets scare me the most because of the complications with pregnancy and with the babies. I'm not at transfer quite yet! I have injections class tomorrow. I'm starting injections probably on Friday, and we are looking at retrieval/transfer to be the week of June 9th. Thank you for the well wishes!!! Good luck to you! I hope you get your !!!
