what brands would you dress your LOs in?
For me it would be mini Boden, Tea Collection, and Crewcuts ALL day long. Alas, I settle for the few used pieces I buy off HBers.

I dunno. I don't really have expensive taste for kids stuff. Some mini Boden is cute!

Mini Boden is my favorite right now, but I love the spring stuff I've seen from Hanna Andersson this year.

I can't even think of expensive boy brands? Maybe polo Ralph Lauren

@regberadaisy: same as you! i would love to buy new releases the second they come out. Alas, I wait until eos sales and by then everything I *need* (lol) is sold out.

Janie & Jack. I live by a HA outlet and the deals can be outrageous.... $3 hats $10 jams $6 dresses etc. so full price Hanna? And alllll the Hunter boots.

Only one I can think of is Janie and Jack. I'd have a hard time watching that stuff get stained/ruined regardless of how much money I had, I think! But who knows, maybe not!

I'd like to try out some other small shops! We've loved the ones we've found so far. I bet there are more good ones out there.

I'd still dress my kids in the brands they currently wear-- hanna, crew cuts, tucker and Tate, splendid, Boden.
grapefruit / 4988 posts
Probably Boden and Crewcuts, and also more small/independent designers. Plus I'd get her more expensive shoes (like Hunter boots and Uggs).

Im pretty happy with their clothing and tend to just spend the money to get what I want, which is nothing super fancy. I actually probably spend more buying my son smocked stuff and Ralph Lauren than I spend on my girl. I don't really get super fancy designer clothes for kids. Seems like a waste of money to me, and often, the clothes really aren't even that cute. But if funds were unlimited I would go nuts on shoes. Livie and Luca, Hunters, Uggs, Nikes, etc

Hm. Now I dress them in mostly Gymboree because it fits my slim girls, it's comfy, cotton, washes really well, and looks like little kid clothes. I don't think I'd change that even if I was a millionaire! I like them to be comfortable and bright.
Maybe I'd shop for them at Nordstrom more, out of convenience? Because that's where I generally shop for myself. But generally speaking, I think I'd still shop at Gymboree.

I'm a die-hard Carter's fan. I don't think $$$ would change that. It's cute, sturdy, and comfortable. Maybe if I had a girl, I'd feel differently!

Alllll the Matilda Jane and some of the cute Etsy/IG shops.
Definitely Ralph Lauren for my boys.

Shiiiit, no budget? We'd be rocking Kate Spade and Stella McCartney over here. Both their little girls lines are ADORABLE. The Burberry and Oscar de la Renta kids lines too. Probably some Janie+Jack. Milly Minis is cute. Definitely some boutique brands. LOTS of Joyfolie shoes.

same stuff...I don't hold back if there's something I want for the kids but I'm also not drawn to designer clothing for them

Meh, I'd still buy the inexpensive stuff she's wearing now. Can't really dress up at preschool.

I tend to go very budget on LO's clothes. Full price Gymboree and Baby Gap is a splurge for me! Zara is my favorite - it's not outrageously priced but I just love it all so I don't even let myself go in there.
Sadly, I don't have the fashion sense to put together awesome outfits for LO with bargain priced stuff. If money were no object, I would just replicate the Zara and Baby Gap ads.

Jacadi Paris. I browse that site so often that it's literally the pop up add on HB as I type this. They have decent sales from time to time, but their full prices stuff is pricey for kids' clothes--but I just LOVE the classic styling of their clothes and shoes and it's really well made in person. It bothers me when kids clothes are pricey and still just made out of like, unlined cotton so I appreciate that most of the Jacadi stuff I've liked is heavier and has better stitching and lining than typical kid's clothes.

Dutchess and Lion, Kate Spade, June and January, Wren and James. If I had more money my top priority would be buying more bows. I love bows, but they get so pricey.

And also assuming they wouldn't wreck it, or I would have so many buckets of money that I wouldn't care?
Petit Bateau, Bonpoint, Burberry.
honeydew / 7235 posts
I don't really even know! I like a lot of our cheaper stuff now. I would maybe add more Zara into the mix, but for everyday it doesn't make sense
grapefruit / 4187 posts
Everything nice I buy has "disappeared" on its first wear at daycare, so I would still buy gap on sale. He would definitely have a lot more Janie and jack for the weekend though!
grapefruit / 4584 posts
I'd buy more of the same things I do now (Mini Boden, Tea Collection, Hanna Andersson) without waiting for sales, without using Carters/Target/Gymboree as "fillers" for things like socks, plain tees and leggings.
I honestly probably wouldn't do too much with true "designer" brands - maybe one or two dresses from Burberry or Ralph Lauren (not Polo) for special occasions. I feel like in general, the items we've had from adult designers don't end up getting worn a lot because they're not practical/my girls don't like them.

@Modern Daisy: Seriously?!?! That's awful. I'd be really annoyed if my child's clothing was disappearing at school/daycare, nice brand or not.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
I'm happy with her clothing! I'd just buy lots and lots and lots more!

I love his clothes now - Crewcuts, Boden, BabyGap, Uniqlo - but it money were no object I'd totally splurge for a Burberry coat and more Janie & Jack holiday/formal wear. They're sooo cute but I don't have the occasion or reason to spend that kind of money on something he'll be out of in a few months (and no siblings to pass it to)... :::sigh:::

@Modern Daisy: our Northface fleece jackets tend to disappear all the time...
GOLD / papaya / 10166 posts
I have zero fashion sense, for myself or the girls, so I don't see myself going to more expensive stores if money was no object.

Oh and I forgot - Well Dressed Wolf, Patagonia and Mini Melissa. Hannah Kate, Garnet Hill.
